“Fantastic, a warm welcome greets you everytime.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 May 2011

This was our second stay at the Grey Mullet and this time we took my parents and my children (who are in their late teens). As previously, we were warmly welcomed by Jane and Anita, superb breakfasts served every morning and the rooms kept clean daily. A great location for all amenities, a quaint guesthouse in the heart of St Ives.

Room Tip: All rooms good.

“top weekend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2011

Have used the Grey Mullet 5 or 6 times over the years and what to write has been said before. Cosy, quaint, structually probably has not changed for centuries, very good breakfast and in a superb location. Very helpful to allow us to store our bag till the time our train arrived.

“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 January 2011

Room (2) compact but perfectly adequate. Can be noisy if have windows open but that is the price of being in the centre of St Ives.
Breakfast was very good.
Room was only cleaned at the beginning of the stay whilst tea/coffee etc replaced daily.

“The perfect place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2010

I stayed at the Grey Mullet in St Ives in June. St Ives is a wonderful place for an escape, gorgeous beaches, lovely light, dolphins, art, the Tate, lovely shops and great places to eat. The Grey Mullet is a stone's throw from all of this. It's old, charming, full of character. My room was tiny but so sweet, there were interesting eclectic pictures and portraites everywhere, a small living room area complete with fireplace, magazines, books and loads of local guides and maps. The staff were very chatty and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious. I will definitely be back and I can't recommend this guest house too highly.

“If you invented a B&B it would be the Mullet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2008

I've stayed here twice and I love it to bits. It has all the best qualities of a B&B and so far as I can see, none of the bad ones. It's right in the middle of St Ives, 10 seconds walk from the harbour, in an old old building (18C) and festooned with hanging baskets etc. It features in many a postcard.

The breakfast is typical B&B, but good quality everything (except the coffee, steer clear!) spotlessly clean and at £30 a night for a single I have no complaints. Will be back there again and again . . . I hope!

  • Liked — Very picturesque building and location
  • Disliked — The coffee. Have tea!
