A group of us went to the Badger Inn after seeing the sign advertising 'good home cooked food' outside the pub, this couldn't have been further from the truth! I was the only one to order a starter which arrived promptly and was rather good, a simple sandwich on nice granary bread. We waited for the mains to arrive with anticipation. In total we waited for around an hour, prehaps longer! In the meantime the staff were running around like headless chickens trying to sort out the meals for another table (the only other people in there). Their meals arrived over the course of half an hour/ forty five minutes, by the time the next meal arrived the previous one had been finished. One member of the party sent their meal back three times because it was cold and in the end asked for a refund. As they left the disgruntled diners wished us "goodluck" which nobody wants to hear before eating. I ate there with a group of about 6 or 7 friends. We ordered a range of mains, when they arrived, the majority seemed to be the most basic of microwave meals or frozen crap that had been deep fat fried. Two friends ordered 'cumberland sausages with mash, yorkshire pudding and onion gravy'. The description and prices (around £12 per head) made us beleif we would receive the highest quality nosh. Before ordering my friend asked specifically if it wash smash or real mash, and wash told whole heartedly "real". When they arrived the whole table went silent in disbelief, a blob of smash with two cremated frozen (the poorest quality) sausages, with bisto and a shrivelled mini yorkshire. The staff were very obliging when refunds were requested! All in all it was a masively over priced dissapointment!
