“Warm and welcoming boutique hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

We stayed at the Boskerris Hotel for 3 nights in late September 2011, and felt so comfortable there we were very sorry to leave. On arrival, the exterior view from the car park was quite unprepossessing, but once through the front door , we soon realised we were in a very special place. The reception and lounge areas had a lovely relaxed beachhouse feel, with pale wooden floors, and comfortable sofas and armchairs upholstered in attractive fabrics. The welcoming, warm and friendly attitude of all the staff, was exceptional. This being a family run hotel, the owners were always available, and were absolutely charming and quietly attentive.
Our room [ No. 3] was on the small side but very comfortable with a window overlooking the surrounding hillside and a view of Carbis Bay . The bathroom was excellent, and the bed was very comfortable.
Being very interested in food, we were thrilled with the quality and presentation of all the delicious meals [ breakfast and dinners] which were served in a light and airy dining room. The dining room also had a lovely view over the Bay. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: We found our room [ No. 3] a bit small, as we had a lot of luggage. It had a good view of the Bay an...

“Fantastic Stay”

This was my favourite hotel during 3 weeks in Cornwall and there were some terrific ones among them. Boskerris is a small boutique hotel which has the feel of a bed and breakfast due to the personal touches and wonderfully open lounge with views of the bay. Breakfasts were delicious and dinners were also good, although there were better options in St Ives which is spoilt for choice. Free wifi was a nice touch. Bedrooms were spotless and comfortable and the bathrooms excellent. The carpark is quite large and not having to deal with the nightmare that is parking in St Ives was very nice. A 5 minute train ride from a nearby station takes you from Carbis Bay to St Ives.

“What a wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

We visited the Boskerris based solely on the reviews on TA and that it has been No 1 for so long and we were not disappointed. We stayed for 6 nights at the end of September and apart from the weather being typically inclement we had a wonderful holiday. We had two different rooms, the first one a full sea view which was a bit on the small side and the second a side sea view which was much bigger (a triple) and more comfortable. The breakfasts were to die for and we ate in twice and the evening menu although quite small was lovely, the fish and chips were especially tasty, all the food was beautifully presented. The location was excellent with a 5 minute stroll to Carbis Bay Station (take a torch as there are no street lights in the entrance for some reason) and it is uphill on the way back so you can work off the calories! We visited many wonderful places whilst we stayed at the Boskerris and we would love to go back again hopefully in the summer when we could take advantage of the lovely outside sun terrace with the view of Carbis Bay. We loved St Ives but Carbis Bay is a wonderful beach it was a shame we could not enjoy sitting on it due to the weather but we still managed a walk along the sands. Finally, all the staff at the Boskerris go out of their way to make you feel at home without being too intrusive which we thought was lovely, thank you for making our holiday so special. We did send an email to thank everyone on our return so apologies for taking so long for this review.

Room Tip: Book the triple with side sea view, it is a lovely room

“A Gem of A Hotel”

Carbis Bay is a great alternative to staying in the centre of St Ives. Not onlyndonthey also have a fine sandy beach it is much easier to access and park than the main town. Also there is a regular train service that runs every hour and takes just 7 mins to St Ives.

5 mins walk from Carbis Bay station is Boskerris - a boutique hotel perched on the hill overlooking the bay. Family run and extremely friendly the hotel has undergone extensive refurbishment over the past few years. It makes a perfect base to tour Cornwall. Rooms are comfortable with Wifi. Wenstayed inanroom overlooking the bay wonderful view! The breakfast room is a feature as is the roof terrace and bar. Food is sourced locally for both breakfast and dinner. Also memorable is a giant wall map of Cornwall with all the local tourist attractions listed.

An excellent hotel. Closed now for the winter.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

“Loved this hotel”

Recently renovated hotel with some of the most friendly staff we have encountered.
We had room 2 which was large and well presented with a wonderful seaview and very large bathroom.
The hotel has a large deck overlooking the water and modern bar and lounge area.
The hotel is situated on the way into St Ives but this is no inconvenience as the train station is very near to the hotel and it is 1 stop into St Ives.
We went into St Ives centre for dinner the first night but found it easier and just as enjoyable to have dinner at the hotel the other two nights we stayed ( the menu is limited but it suited us)
A great clean modern hotel with friendly staff. We would stay again
