Stayed for two nights, wish it could have been longer. Friendly, helpful staff, nice sun lounge and bar with fabulous sea views. Comfy beds in a spotlessly clean, spacious room. The food is amazing - e.g. trio of local fish with salsa verde , pear and almond tart - we never expected quality like this in an hotel restaurant. Huge breakfast using top quality produce.

We stayed here for one night. We were very impressed by the informal friendliness of the staff and the service and assistance they gave us.

The best thing though was the cooking. We had had lunch at Rick Steins restaurant the day before which was good, but the whole baked plaice with new potatoes we had at this hotel for dinner was even better. I had smoked haddock and poached egg for breakfast which was also delicious. After a few weeks of mainly pub grub, the food here was a delight.

We are from Australia and have noted that British food generally has come on leaps and bounds in recent years, but to find cooking of this standard in this hotel [and at very reasonable prices] was very welcome indeed.

Me and my fiance went to St Ives for a 3 night break we choose the Chy-An-Albany because of the location and car park (a bonus in St Ives) and we weren't disapointed! The hotel is easy to find with a car park at the front and back and beautiful sea views from the front of the hotel. We found the receptionsts very helpful and showed us up to the room, we were in a sea view room with lovely views out, the room was clean and had everything we needed. We were always greeted where ever we went in hotel and found the staff very friendly. The breakfast had everything from fruit,cereal, toast, cakes to a full english breakfast and freshly cooked menu. We were so impressed by the hotel we are going back in a few weeks time!

We found this hotel very easily as we drove into St Ives and there was car parking right outside the front of the hotel, a rarity in St Ives and worth its weight in gold. There is more parking at the back and they increased the parking area at the front whilst we were there. We had an excellent deal £50 per night for 2 nights and got the third night free... a total steal. Booked through Late Rooms.com where the deal was shown but it was impossible to get it to book as this deal. We rang up and hey presto!
Our room was at the back of the hotel (seaview was £10more per night) ans whilst the room was compact and bijou it was beautifully clean and fit for purpose. The shower room however was sooooo tiny it made things a wee bit difficult!
Breakfast was edible, the bacon was super but crikey the mushrooms were vile! My fella had the haddock for breakfast which whilst it was a childs portion was gorgeous and beautifully cooked.
If you are not used to walking up and down alot of hills this is not the hotel for you as you have no choice...I had calves of steel when I returned home.
The staff were pleasant enough and it was a good base from which to explore. The Sloop Inn in town also has a January sale on most of its beers, ciders and wines which certainly was lovely...the food here is gorgeous too.
St Ives is utterly magical and the real world stops so if escapism and pixies are what you need then do not hesitate
