“A great find!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

I have to thank trip advisor for helping me find this great place to stay in St. Ives. After staying in a shabby B&B in London, entering the twin room at the Queens Hotel was like a breath of fresh air. Every thing looked new, clean and contemporary. The beachy decor gave it a real fresh appearance. I could not fault the room at all. It was a generously proportioned twin room, had a good size bathroom. Plenty of room for luggage. Nice fluffy towels, and you got two towels each, nice touch. The breakfast was fantastic. There were plenty of options, and the full english breakfast was really good, excellent sausages and the chef knew how to poach an egg. Excellent. The dinners on offer were also excellent, not your usual pub food. The pub downstairs had a real nice ambiance, and also was a nice place to have a relaxed meal. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I stayed here for 4 nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Forgot to mention, the hotel is ideally located in the centre of town and short walk from railway station and bus station. St. Ives is not a very big village, and one can easily get around on foot.

“Top Place for St Ives”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Superb Food and a lively welcoming bar atmopshere downstairs. Stayed one night during the St Ives Music Festival in a comfortable and spacious double room. Great nights sleep and big breakfast the next day - and happy to find it was right in the middle of St Ives so everything was only a few minutes walk away.

“Exceptiaonal Food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

A fabulous place to stay- we had a two night break without babies after my husband's return from afghanistan. The rooms are clean and neat and the beds are comfy, there are no baths in any rooms but for the price they are still very good. The food was absolutely fantastic, we couldn't fault it, especially the cost, we both agreed we have never had such good food for the price. The service was friendly and efficient. There was an 'open mic' night the night we ate there so we even had live accoustic music while we dined!! A really great place that fulfills its objective of a superb pint accompanied by exceptional, affordable food. Would highly recommend the Queens Hotel especially the food.

“A good choice”

Friendly, helpful staff, clean room with contemporary decor, good hot shower. Lovely breakfast cooked to order so not for those with a 'grab and go' mentality. A nice addition might be some newspapers in the bar area to complete the leisurely feel. Enjoyed the homemade marmalade and would happily have bought some if it had been for sale! We ate here one evening and enjoyed our meal very much. Not typical pub food and very good value for St Ives - amazing home made ice cream! This was our first visit to St Ives so we hadn't appreciated the parking problems but once we got to know our way around it was ok and it wouldn't put us off using this hotel again. On the plus side we were just minutes walking to everywhere we wanted to visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are quiet apart from occasional early morning kitchen noise

“Great value for St Ives”

We popped into this Hotel for a drink on our last visit and felt it had a great feel to it. So when we decided to take advantage of the late good weather we decided to give staying here a try. We were not disapointed. The room was large with en suit facilities, clean and very comfortable. We ate at the hotel, this is fresh food not fast food, varied menu and the best fries in St Ives bar none! No it does not have a sea view and yes you can sometimes here delivery vans in the morning (when else would they be able to deliver) but for value for money you can't beat this Hotel

Room Tip: This is an old building and there are stairs to climb to get to the rooms but no real problem
