“well placed, excellent breakfast friendly and very helpful people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2011

John and his wife were very welcoming even though I arrived late they greeted me with a smile. Breakfast was superb! healthy with lots of fruit and yoghurts. It was quite tricky for me to get back to leeds via newquay airport and John was very helpful in selecting the quickest cheapest train and bus routes back.
The location is excellent not too far from anywhere and far enough for a quiet nights rest. will definately return this year!

“excellent”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2010

A quiet comfortable hotel, away from traffic, yet within easy reach of the town centre (1/2 miles). Friendly and helpful staff.

“Lovely B&B”

We stayed at the Dunedin for six nights and were very pleased. I found it here on TripAdvisor and must say that fellow travelers opinions is so fundamental when coming to choose a play to stay. The landlord John was very helpful and friendly, always there for you. The location is good, a ten minute walk from the city, but just a few minutes from the bus stop to the hop on hop off-bus. Good hearty breakfest, a lot of tourist information, umbrellas to borrow (we had a lot of rain!), very nice room. And you can choose from about a hundred of DVD's to borrow and watch in your room if you feel like it. Excellent service! And - you get free Wi-fi, even in your room!

“Fantastic place to stay in Penzance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 August 2010

We stayed for 2 nights in August. We received a warm welcome from John who explained where everything was and showed us to our rooms. We had a family room which comprised of 2 separate rooms next to each other. The main room had 2 very large single beds, comfortable chairs, dresser, cupboards, TV, hospitality tray etc. The bathroom was off this room. The second room was adjacent with a single bed, chair, cupboards etc. The rooms were tastefully furnished, very clean and both had views over the lovely tree lined Alexandra Road. It was very quiet at night and parking was freely available in the street. There was also unlimited free internet access. On the ground floor was a large sitting room with TV and lots of information about the local area. John was very helpful and informative and was kind enough to print out some information from the web regarding tide times for St. Michael's Mount and some information on genealogy websites. Breakfast was in a lovely room in the basement and was served by Linda who was friendly and very efficient. There was fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals and hot breakfast cooked to order. You can easily walk to the shops in the main street (10 minutes) and the beach (5 minutes). This was a wonderful place to stay and if we visit Cornwall again we wouldn't hesitate to choose The Dunedin.

“Friendly Guest House”

The Dunedin is a warm and friendly guest house. The staff were polite & always willing to help. I stayed in the single room which was very clean and comfortable with en-suite & tea/coffee making facilities & it was always perfectly made up when i returned each night. Breakfast was served between 8 & 9 each morning with plenty of choice for all tastes & i couldn't fault it. For those who like to take there laptops there is free Wi-Fi available. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and along the seafront there are plenty of places to eat with the town centre & bus/train stations around a 20 minute liesurely walk. Ideal for anyone looking for a quite & comfortable place to stay.
