Stayed in August for 2 nights. The B&B is about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Newquay, so is well located for a number of beaches and shops. There is a small Tesco nearby, and although the B&B is on a main road we had no issue with noise at night.
The rooms are large family setups with a double bed and two singles. It did feel a little cramped with just the two of us staying there. Bed was fairly comfortable, but overall the rooms haven't been updated for some time and it felt like attention to detail to decor had been completely lost.
The rooms at the back overlook the garden which is often in use, so we usually kept the curtains drawn in order to be able to relax in the room with the door and window open - unfortunately this reduces the amount of light in the room to nil. Some net curtains or blinds here would resolve the problem as the rooms are naturally very dark.
Note that although rooms are advertised as ensuite ours just had a toilet and wash basin in the ensuite area. There are two shower/bath rooms shared between the other 4 rooms on the ground floor, these are clean and we didn't have to wait to use the shower at any time.
Breakfast was great, full english with a delicious selection of home made jams.
Sarah has a large dog, but he is perfectly friendly and well behaved.
We would've liked more information about check out time, breakfast and how to access the wireless internet connection but no details were offered when we arrived or in our room.
To summarise - this is not a perfect B&B but is well located and the friendliness of the owner goes a long way to making it a nice place to stay.
Pros - location, cost, friendliness of owner, breakfast
Cons - quite noisy during the day, rooms look and feel dated, little privacy during the day if you open doors to back garden, pets around (if you are allergic to them)
