“Very disappointing and hugely overpriced”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2010

We did not stay at this hotel, we saw the room and on hearing our disappointment, the owner offered us a refund which we gratefully accepted.

We looked at the website for this hotel, the pictures looked amazing, we expected a clean, spacious, modern place, especially for £85 per night. On the day we had to negotiate the time of arrival to be let in. We waited outside and when the owner arrived, we did not find her particularly friendly as she clearly was in a rush to leave. We could hear the dog barking in the kitchen which put us off eating there. The place felt very shabby, we could see dirt in all the corners, the carpet on the stairs and the walls were stained. The room was small, with shabby furniture, the bed very hard. There was no door to the bathroom/toilet, just a bead curtain, the bathroom tiny and not clean. The front garden was neglected, the whole place felt depressing. We drove on and ended up in a luxurious AA 4 star Atlantic hotel with the most amazing sea view room for the same price as we would have paid for this shabby B&B.

“Great B&B”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of March 09 – we took advantage of their 3 nights for the price of 2 – great value for money in my opinion. We stayed in the Chicama room at the top of the house, the room was lovely, it had great rustic furniture, fantastic local artwork and we loved the DVD player – was great for a rainy afternoon with a cuppa! Andy told us about a great local pub – we went there twice! Jan did a great breakfast; we loved the homemade bread and the jams from a nearby farm, she was so helpful answering all our questions too. The B&B is only a few minutes walk from the town and the beaches. We were a little put off by no door on the bathroom but in the end it was fine and didn’t make any difference at all. We had a wet room which was great. All-in-all a lovely B&B with great people running it, lovely rooms and fantastic furniture and artwork.

“great breakfast and a homely feel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2010

An excellent welcome from the owners and an amazing breakfast. I took myself to St Ives for the day which was a highlight of my short trip, the cornish coast is stunning.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2009

Although we were made very welcome by the owner there were many aspects of our stay that were disappointing - the website states that if you want bedding and towels changed more than twice a week to let them know, which we thought was fine as we were only staying for 5 nights. Unfortunately neither the towels or bedding were changed at all during our stay, the bathroom wasn't cleaned once, nor was the room hoovered! The parking was a nightmare as we had to move our car before 10am every morning - breakfast service wasn't available until after 9am so instead of a leisurely breakfast which we would have liked on holiday everything was rushed to avoid parking fines. Also, avoid the room in the attic if you are tall as my husband and I lost count of the number of times we banged our heads on the beams!

“Newquay's most stylish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2008

My partner and I have just spent a fantastic weekend in Newquay and we can honestly say that one of the highlights was finding this small, but stylish guesthouse. A lot of care had gone into the decor of our room, it was immediately inviting, artistically decorated and we felt very welcomed.
Breakfast was delicious, there was so much choice which seemed to cater for everone's taste. We had the full English and can definitely recommend it. This is a perfect place to go for a romantic weekend.
