Stayed here on New Years Eve with 2 friends. Got a room with 2 sets of bunk beds. Very small en suite with shower, basin, toilet. Communal lounge area downstairs with pool table, dartboard, a bar and a communal kitchen with microwave etc. A bit of a free for all and the place seemed to be a bit of a state in the morning after everyone had used it, but it was New Years Eve. GOOD POINTS - clean fresh bedding, short walk to nightlife, casual attitude to checking out the next day (we didn't leave until 1pm). Fun atmosphere around the place in the evenings when everyone’s getting ready to go out. You could probably get away with taking people back to your room too – not that I’m advocating that!, Friendly owner. BAD POINTS - No hot water and no heating!! Plumbing was broken. Had to go downstairs to another room to shower and the room was freezing. Owner was very apologetic but didn't knock any money off or allow us extra duvets. The decor is pretty dated and a bit shabby. Smells a bit fusty as you walk through the main door. The en suites are tiny but had the shower worked it would have been sufficient. No TV but a broken retro radio type thing on the wall which didn’t work. Basically it’s not exactly luxurious but if you just want somewhere to sleep that’s fairly cheap and close to the action then it’s fine. However on the way into town I did notice a lot more hostels along the same stretch of road which may well have been better. Do your research.
