“You simply couldn't pick a better place to stay in Newquay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

We stayed at the Kallicliff for 8 days at the end of August 2010. Weather was a mixed bag of sunny and rainy days so we had the full Cornwall experience. The hotel is right on the clifftop overlooking the Lusty Glaze beach, a beach full of activities for kids, we were able to hire wetsuits to enjoy even the wet days. The family room was easily able to accommodate our family of four and we had panoramic views. The owners (Brian and Sue) were simply great and couldnt have done more to accommodate us (use of bodyboards for the kids, suggestions for where to go and what to do, and just great conversations about their experiences in Cornwall).
Modern breakfast room overlooking the beach was a nice way to start the day with cooked breakfast to order every day with fresh fruit and cereals getting the kids well set for a full day of activity. Special mention for the lovely waitress (Jess). Days out to Padstow and St Ives provided a great mix of beaches and restaurants as well as a trip to the Eden Project which even on a rainy day was very impressive and more importantly kept the kids occupied and happy.
Overall a great holiday and in my humble opinion you couldn't pick a better place to stay in Newquay.
Only downside would be the restaurants in Newquay where we loved the Pizza Express but had a very bad experience at the Maharajah next door (food and service both very poor). Seemed to be limited choice of quality restaurants but maybe we just couldnt find them.

“Home from Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 August 2010

I must say this is by far the best hotel we have stayed in EVER.

Its in a fantastic location, just walking distance from the town, very well run, spotless, welcoming and decorated to a high standard.

The hotel has ample parking for the rooms, Brian & Susan were excellent hosts, as this was the first time we have been with our 2 year old, they were able to easily recommend places to visit during the day and in the evening.

The breakfast was excellent, really good quality, lots of choice and gave us an excellent start to the day, and you can enjoy the stunning views while eating it.

Brian & Susan were very accomodating with my little one, they provided a high chair, dealt with her 'special' breakfast requests and recommended the room with the bath when we first contacted them.

I would really recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Newquay, we shall definitely be returning next year!

“Quality and location superb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2010

I stayed here with my teenage son for 3 nights during a short break.
I was really pleased with the location as I had no transport - and certainly managed without easily- a great location - near enough to walk to attractions but quiet enough to sleep at night!
The Hotel is comfortable, clean and well managed. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived .
We were well fed at breakfast - whilst enjoying panoramic views of the coast.
Plentiful supplies of tea, coffee, hot chocolate as well as snacks always available in our room - and not that we needed to, but I am sure nothing would be too much trouble if we had asked.
Helpful holiday tips were great and enabled us to fully appreciate the beauty of the coastline and activites in and around newquay.

“Great hospitality and facilities. Another level altogether.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 May 2010

Brian and Sue were incredibly hospitable during our stay and went out of their way to even take us to our restaurant, (6miles away) when we could not get a taxi.

Rooms were beautifully appointed and projected an image of elegance and traditional charm. The added extras (chocolates in the room) and cable television, made us not want to leave the room at all. (we stayed in room 2)

The Kallacliff had undoubtedly one of the best beds I have ever slept on.

Breakfast was also very good quality and there was a large choice, from traditional english with the works to smoked salmon and eggs.

I will definately go back again.
