I went to Newquay as a college reward trip. Before the trip, I looked on TripAdvisor to see the "hotel" we'd be staying at, and unfortunately, it lived up to the bad reviews.
The decor was extremely dated, the cupboard in my twin room was falling apart, there was ample dust on most surfaces, and the stains and dirt on the thread-bare carpet made us keep our shoes on at all times. As two girls sharing a room, the two plug sockets available were not enough, and although we tried to move the bed to access the one behind it it was annoyingly fixed to the wall. The lighting was sort of yellow, athe ceilings were nicotine stained, and the 70s wooden furniture made it all very brown and dingy. In the "en-suite bathroom" (which was about the size of a single bed), the shower tray was grimy, and I found hairs in the plug. EVERYTHING could be heard from the bedroom through the not-so-sliding door, and the beds felt soggy and the sheets had cigarette stains, and stains of other things (!) that made you feel the need to thoroughly wash in the mini shower. The food wasn't up to much, but the staff were friendly, although sighting the dog in the kitchen was a bit eugh.. If you want very cheap and not so cheerful, but with good access to the town, this is ok. Otherwise, steer clear.

In a nut shell! This hotel is at a great location, bang in the middle of Newquay Town & walking distance to beaches.

The Staff are helpful & pleasant.

The Room we had a en-suite. Very clean & suitable for us. View from the room, was good, looking onto the fields.

Sleep Quality is poor. I'm only saying this as it is not the Hotel fault. This is to do with other vistors staying, not having any consideration/common sence & manners for other vistors, when doors are slammed & talking/music loud.

Parking. It's only a issue if others make it an issue. I know there is not enough parking for everyone at one time. But them again, should be grateful for a FREE Parking in Newquay. Anywhere you drive in Newquay & around Cornwall, parking is NOT FREE!

stayed at lowenva hotel with travel style very pleased with the location and view over the bay from our bedroom window lisa the owner was really friendly and always on hand to help if you had any problems , all the meals were really tasty and waitress julie cheerfull and polite , the evening was spent down in the bar with drinks being served by laura our wonderful bar manager , she had to put up with all our banter all evening and never once lost her smile , all our group aged from 40-76 years were very well pleased with the hotel and would like to say a really big thank you to lisa and her staff ( not forgetting the fun we had with scooby) we would definately recomend this hotel to family and friends , dave and gail

Stayed with the owner of this hotel previously when she ran the Junel B&B. Rooms were clean and looked recently decorated. Bar, pool table and dart board downstairs with cheaper drinks than town, so perfect really. No problems with the return of the group bond so all in all a good stay !!
