Goofys is a brilliant place to stay and really can't be faulted. The owners are extremely friendly and really make you feel welcome. Rooms are clean, tidy and modern with nice powerful, hot showers (after a day of surfing, you'll be thankful)! The location is also second to nun with literally a minute walk to Fistral beach one way and a two minute walk the other way to the centre of town. I highly recommend staying here and hope to return again soon.

I was rather impressed with this place, it's tucked away in a perfect location for Fistral Beach away from the noise of the main town. The staff were friendly and the rooms clean. The only downside was the fact that our rooms weren't cleaned during our stay ( in some ways this was good as we were left to do our own thing) but we did have an overflowing bin. They provided breakfast which was perfect for a busy day as it was left for us to help ourselves and we had full use of the kitchen if we chose to cook dinner and lunch. As Goofy's calls itself a youth hostel it has to be said it is much better than this! Would definitely recommend it for its great location and cleanliness.

I've just got back from my 3rd stay at Goofys and it never fails to disappoint!
The owners, Gwen and Andy, and both brilliant - they are easy going, friendly, and extremely helpful; just genuine lovely people. Plus their two boys are very cute and kept us entertained!!
Their hostel - which has now been awarded 4 stars (and rightly so) is stunning. We've stayed in 3 different rooms on 3 different occasions and they are all to an extremely high standard - clean, comfortable and they have amazing views across Fistral or over towards Towan. It is clear to see every time we visit what they have been up to (they are constantly trying to improve) and this year it was fab to see such a lovely new living room upstairs - sofas, bean bags, plus tv, wii, dvd player etc. It is that comfortable and relaxed that I nodded off on the sofa!!
The fact that this is also their home is not a problem - it in fact makes it much more homely and relaxing. They don't mind people using their facilities (kitchen, internet etc) but we always make sure that we leave the place in a tidy condition.
It's location is second to none - right next to Fistral plus just the right distance away from town. It has two car parking spaces to the front of the hostel (I've never had a problem parking), but if these are full Gwen and Andy are always on hand to help you to find somewhere else.

The question below asks if i would recommend this to a friend? well, I would say without a shadow of a doubt i would not only recommend this place to a friend; I'd recommend it to absolutely everybody!!!

Brilliant, a short walk to Fistral is perfect for a surfing holiday and as my friend and I don't drive, 20min walk from Newquay station was easy.

Facilities
Just perfect, not only are the beds of such a massive size and comfort that I could never justify one at home, our room had a very modern shower which is a must for peeling off a wetsuit after a day in the sea. The breakfast spread has everything you could want from a buffet breakfast and changes throughout the week so there is always something new and the breakfast area is bright and comfortable and I spent many a happy morning chatting with other guests over many a cup of tea. There is a guest kitchen, fridge and shelving too and all kitchen facilities were kindly at our disposal which meant we could keep the price down by not having to dine out and we could even use the waching machine! One of the rooms is a guest living-room with Wii, DVD player and Sky including movie channels, comfy sofas and bean bags which makes Goofys and home away from home. There is also a guest computer with internet!

Service
There are only about 6 bedrooms which keeps it very small and friendly and both Gwen and Andy were superb hosts and made us feel very welcome.

Surfing
Both Gwen and Andy are surfers and there is a board store at the back of the hostel which is very safe, floors are wipe clean on the lower level too so you don't have to feel bad dragging your wet, sandy self through the hostel! It is moments away from Fistral and the town centre is easy to get to.

No point going anywhere else!
