“Lovely view, shame about the room standard”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

This was our second stay at the hotel in 2 years. We stayed in early December 2011 to see family and requested a sea harbour view room, which was lovely. However, the standard of the room was very disappointing. Dated decor, fxtures and fittings needs updating. (The room of our first visit was much better and had been updated). The bathroom was old and the shower (in bath) was very difficult to get in and out of due to the way they have fitted the screen. Breakfast was great and the staff and service very good.
For this last visit we were on a discounted rate, due to a disappointing visit on our first stay and we were thankful not to be paying full rate! Overall though, we won't be staying here again

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view and an updated room

Me and my girlfriend visited in the summer for a short break and I found this place on the internet, seemed reasonably priced for a nice hotel so booked it up.

Hotel was lovely.

Food was excellent with lovely harbor views. Highly recommend the kippers for breakfast!

“All is the view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

The only thing the Hotel has going for it is the view, helpful staff and great restaurant.
The hotel is old and it smells old. The rooms are ordinary, although the ones facing the ocean are better thanks to the view. To find our room we had to go through a series of hallways windy and confusing, the numeration is a problem. There was another couple lost in the hallways trying to find their room. The restaurant facing the ocean is nice and the food is great. Both elevators were kind of scary (very old).
Location is a problem there are no city buses that pass by that road.

Room Tip: with the view of the ocean otherwise you can get the ones facing the main road .

“Best room in Cornwall room 101”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Getting away for a break a few times a month we have witnessed the good and bad of what Cornwall has to offer. From the second we walked into room 101 at the Greenbank Hotel we knew this was going to be a great stay. The newly refurbished suite was the best room we have found in Cornwall (and we have been looking for 3 years) and well fitting the special occasion. The view was of course amazing with a large balcony to enjoy it from, but the real surprise was the attention to detail of this room. Quality robes and slippers, real coffee, memory mattress to mention just a few. The best feature was the large sunkan bath overlooking the beautiful sunset. There is a separate lounge area with big plasma and even a selection of blue-ray DVD's for you to choose from and a well stocked mini-bar. It was obvious that no expense had been spared when designing or re-fitting this room.

The food in the Restaurant was as good as I have had anywhere and the breakfast equally impressive. The service from the moment we checked-in to the offer of bags to our car on departure was certainly worthy of the superior 4 star grading. Although we like to try different places each time I think we will be hard pushed to find any better than this Hotel and will certainly be back.

“Good Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

We only had lunch here but the food and service were of very good quality.
The view from the dining room must be the best in Falmouth; it was a pleasure to have a nice long lunch in such good surroundings.
