“Well Manored”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

Stayed here for the first time with my wife. You approach the hotel through a mundane housing estate until you see the welcoming sign for the hotel and a short driveway brings you to the hotel which has extensive grounds. The hotel consists of the original Manor house with modern extension blocks and leisure centre. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and gym. We stayed in the Manor house which is 2 storey. The bedroom was large about 15 feet square with a small entrance hallway and bathroom off. The furniture and fittings were all of good quality, the decor was a little bland and a bit of paint touching up was needed but would imagine this will happen before the main season gets under way. The bed was two 3 foot singles joined together and was very comfortable. There was no disturbance during the night except for owls hooting. Food was very good and the staff polite and friendly. We paid a very reasonable rate for DBB and were well satisfied. Obviously this was out of season and the hotel was mainly filled with business types glued to their laptops and mobiles. In the summer the hotel will be a very different place. The hotel is a little way out of Falmouth.

“Very Good food and friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

This is a comfortable hotel and the food is very good for this standard of hotel.
Bar food is particularly well priced although the main restaurant is rather expensive.
Rooms are comfortable,if rather bland. Noise from overhead was somewhat annoying-just guests walking sounded loud and creaky so overhead insulation was not great. Bathroom is OK,shower curtain over the bath and basic toiletries.Plenty of tea and coffee making facilities but no mini bar.The heating was very erratic and the main radiator didn't work, despite our reporting it.Luckily we had an electric radiator in the room too otherwise it would be rather cold. The public areas were also rather chilly although nicely decorated and with comfortable chairs
There were not many guests staying so this may be why the heating was so low.We used the pool which was fine as was the sauna.
The staff were friendly, particularly the receptionist who was very helpful with details of local places we wanted to go to. Location was a long walk from Falmouth centre
The cooked breakfast was particularly good- great scrambled eggs!
Overall, good value and comfort . I enjoyed it and I'd stay here again

“Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable room & super dinner & breakfast!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 December 2011

I stayed here one night on business 2 weeks ago. On the the spur of the moment I took my elderly parents for a spontaneous birthday celebration and we had a great dinner! Staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were comfortable - a liitle cold when we arrived but once the heating was turned up they were snug. I booked a dinner bed and breakfast package for the three of us. Dinner was excellent and again nothing was too much trouble for the waiters and kitchen staff. I had to breakfast alone as my meet was in Truro the next morning. Returned after lunch to collect the 'Oldies' (its a term of endearement they are quiet used to my humour) and they had breakfasted an hour later than me. Having checked out of their room they spent a relaxed morning in the lounge reading the daily paper and books. One of the waiters brought them mid morning coffee and tea. Will I return yes I hope we do. Its a friendly and comfortable hotel.

Room Tip: The garden rooms are of a better grade than the standard ones.

“Close to being 4 star!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

Stayed 3 nights with in-laws, husband & daughter and this hotel was ideal. Just a little bit too far out to walk to the beach/town etc. but very comfortable to stay in. Thought the meal was perhaps a little pricey (at around £28 for several courses) but they also do excellent bar snacks. My daughter enjoyed the leisure centre with indoor pool. Everywhere was clean and well-maintained but what really makes this hotel is the staff - they are so friendly and obliging (and patient with my elderly father-in-law)!

The only downside was that the hotel was very empty so lacked atmosphere (although this is not the hotel's fault). All in all I think the only thing stopping it from being a 4-star hotel is the lack of lift.

Would highly recommend it.

“Comfortable and great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

This hotel sets the bar for comfort and value for money, so rare these days. A decent sized double bed for a single traveller, bath and free wifi in the room, not to mention free access to a gym and indoor/outdoor pool (although I didn't work-out or swim on this stay). The staff were attentive and professional. Not to mention the stunning grounds and elegant decor. I will definitely be staying again.
