We have just stayed for the fourth time at the Limes. Mal the owner is a very friendly and polite woman. The Limes is only a 10 minute walk from the city centre, and the rooms are very cosy and clean. The breakfast is very good, and there is a good choice.
There are some good pubs nearby, Bawn Lodge, The Royal Oak, The Broomlands and the Flookers Brook. Stay at this guest house, and you'll e-visit.

We have just arrived back from our 3 days in Chester ,The Limes was a lovely place to stay rooms were very clean ,breakfast was very well cooked and excellent choice to suit everyone's taste .The only downside to our stay was visit to Liverpool were we ate at The Pump House at Liverpool Docks the food was shocking,my husband will eat any thing but could not eat what was served .

Had booked a double and a twin(18 yr daughter, 16yr son). Arrived to be told by the woman holding the fort that the owner had assumed we were two couples and had reserved 2 doubles. We said no to this, she found an empty single in the rafters, which we accepted for my son. The doubles were really lovely, very comfortable, beautifully furnished, spotless. The tiny single was OK, but there was a beam in its ensuite which you had to dodge around and had padding on it. Breakfast was delicious. I especially liked the fresh fruit salads. The waitress was very pleasant and the owner made a point of apologising for the room mix-up.

A beautiful room we we couldn't fault. It's was such a shame the service was so poor. There was no information in our room about breakfast times, so the morning was a mad rush. We have a small child and expected to be allocated a breakfast table together, not to be told there wasn't enough room and we'd have to sit separately! Not advisable for vegetarians either if you want a full cooked breakfast (Linda MaCartney obviously hasn't reached this establishment). Considering the Limes star rating I expected more.
