“Excellant value for money, service with a smile”

A beautiful old building in the historic city of Chester. The location is 5 minutes walk from the centre of the city and all attractions. Greeted by the new manager David who is as happy and helpful in real life as he is on the phone. Paid £5 for the car park which is secure. David has recently taken over the Bells and the hall way smelt of fresh paint. The room was spacious and the bedding clean and fresh. I asked if he did food and he told me the menu. Sure enough 10 minutes later I was tucking into a delicious fresh ham sandwich and chips for under a fiver! My husband and I had a brilliant night out in Chester (kid free!!!). David gave us the key for the side door so we had our own enterance separate to the pub. We returned late (dont get out much!) and had a really good nights sleep. In the morning check out was 11am, in no way did we feel rushed, just relaxed and chilled. This really was excellant value for money. £55 & £5 for the parking. David is doing it up to a high standard and we will definately stay again.

“No no no no no”

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!

I have stayed atmany Hotels as you can imaging, but all I can say, is do not go near this......Hotal, if I can call it that, it makes Faulty Towers look like the Hilton.
I am so glad I did not bring my Dog, it would of abandoned me. I had to Drink all the time, to get to sleep, but even then, the noise from the Shower Dripping all night, kept me awake, yet when I went for a shower, the water did not run, just carried on DRIP DRIP DRIP.
I went for Tea at 6.30 - Apparently they only had Beans on Toast, but the Beans turned out to be Peas, but thankfully the colour of the peas blended in nicely with the colour of the toast.
I asked for a glass of Wine, "Sorry we have none" Glass of Lager "Sorry we have none", but they did have glass of dirty water.

AVOID, PLEASE!!!

“The worst night of my life.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2009

I booked the Chester Belles after reading their advertisement on the internet. What a mistake. I booked the trip as a surprise for my husband for his birthday and it was a surprise all right. When we arrived we had to pay up front for the room. The landlord showed us to the room and said 'your'e lucky she's just been up to clean it'. When he walked out of the room I said to my husband'pity she didn't switch the vacuum on'. The floor was filthy as was the bathroom, the toilet still had a present in from the previuos occupant. The wash hand basin had toothpaste stuck to the side of it and the bathroom floor was filthy. The tea/coffee tray had spills on from the last occupant and the light fitting was hanging off the wall. There was a hole in the floor under the carpet and my foot went down it that many times that I had to put a chair over it as I was scared I would break my foot. There was no live music or rock disco as advertised and this was a Saturday night!. We did not have the breakfast or any food there as I told my husband if this is the state of the room that you can see ,imagine what the kitchens are like and you can't see them. The bed covers were ancient I've given better to the charity shops. I was so paranoid about sleeping in the bed that we took all of the covers off apart from the sheets.I would never stay in Chester again and not in a hotel like this. Next time it's the travelodge etc at least you know what you're getting with them. My advice avoid this place like the plague.

“Chester Bells Hotel/Pub”

Warning -this place has become a hovel now to stay in.

Stayed before but last stay was in February 2007, 10 of us so 3 bad rooms.

Met by dirty sheets and ear buds still on stairs, dirty glasses and cutlery from previous guests still in rooms and very basic bathrooms.

Floor went in in parts of the floor, shower leaked down to bar down stairs and we were asked to move shower head, wardrobe almost fell on top of us in one room.

To top it off our breakfast was served by two happy (not) girls who dragged themsleves away from their fag break to serve a fairly decent breakfast - well until we spotted the mould on the toast!!
