“FUN, FRIENDLY, FANTASTIC..................”

Myself and my partner on our first visit to chester (races) booked in to the chester bells at short notice and found a diamond in the rough. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our evening meals and breakfast was outstanding value for money with plenty of choice. The room was always clean with fresh towels every day, we found our room to be very comfortable and modern. We stayed for three nights and enjoyed live music every night after the races. Would both highly recommend this hotel/pub to any body looking for a good value for money, fun place to stay in chester.

“Excellent value for money.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 April 2011 via mobile

I just spent the weekend at the Chester bells and had a really great time on Chester, we went for the history side so the bells was in the purfect location next to the museum . The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were very helpful and even carried our bags upstairs for us. We had tea there on our first night which was brill really tasty and priced right too which makes a change in Chester, so thanks Chester bells for a truly amazing weekend .

“FAWLTY TOWERS!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 March 2011

Two words sum this up: FAWLTY TOWERS!
Jimmy still in bed at breakfast time after a night of domestic disputes which kept us awake all night! Only the chef and cleaner around at breakfast time. Tense atmosphere!
Poor show!!!
However the rooms were clean, spacious and ok for an overnight stay.

“Wouldn't waste your money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 March 2011

Well the room wasn't really up to any great standard and many of the staff were as about useful as a chocolate fire-guard. The worst thing about this whole stay was the fact we went to leave at 8am the following day to find two people having sex in the hotel reception which we had to walk through before we could leave. I would not recommend this to anyone especially if you are planning on taking children as imagine they had seen what we saw on our departure, and i also felt the manager was very unhelpful when i rang him up to speak to him.

“Excellant value for money, service with a smile”

A beautiful old building in the historic city of Chester. The location is 5 minutes walk from the centre of the city and all attractions. Greeted by the new manager David who is as happy and helpful in real life as he is on the phone. Paid £5 for the car park which is secure. David has recently taken over the Bells and the hall way smelt of fresh paint. The room was spacious and the bedding clean and fresh. I asked if he did food and he told me the menu. Sure enough 10 minutes later I was tucking into a delicious fresh ham sandwich and chips for under a fiver! My husband and I had a brilliant night out in Chester (kid free!!!). David gave us the key for the side door so we had our own enterance separate to the pub. We returned late (dont get out much!) and had a really good nights sleep. In the morning check out was 11am, in no way did we feel rushed, just relaxed and chilled. This really was excellant value for money. £55 & £5 for the parking. David is doing it up to a high standard and we will definately stay again.
