Great, clean and tidy. Much better than some travelodges we have stayed in
Just stayed in this Travelodge for 2 nights, we got the £12 rooms, for a shopping trip and relaxing break in Chester, very helpful staff, exceptionally clean room and facilities. Wouldn't hesitate in booking this Travelodge again. However the Toby Carvery very disappointed we were advised by the hotel staff that there was a pub called Oaklands (part of the Hungry Horse group) where we had a fantastic meal.
We stayed at this Travelodge for 1 saturday night in December. 2 adults and 2 children (9 and 3). We couldn't get a special rate room and so it cost £61.70 - breakfast would have been extra. First impressions were the hotel was a little bit tired and could do with an overhaul. We were given the room key and told it was upstairs. We went up and again it just seemed a bit run down. carpets were stained, paint peeling, holes in skirting boards. Our room was adequate for our needs, we were here for an 18th birthday party, so really it was just a place to sleep. We had plenty of towels, and there was lots of hot water for baths and showers. There was a double bed and a pull out sofa bed for the children which was good as it had 2 seperate mattresses so we could put them apart in the room. Plenty of bedding and pillows. Our radiator was broken and we couldn't switch it on but the room was quite warm anyway as the sun was shining in but on a cold day this wouldn't have been pleasant. There was a TV with basic cable channels, wardrobe, bedside units - all very basic but did the job. It was attached to a Toby Carvery which also doubled up as the breakfast room - can't comment on the food as we went to the party and went back to see friends in chester in the morning for breakfast. Overall it was ok for the one night but wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer - as I said a bit tired and in need of some TLC.
I didn't expect a lot with it being a Travelodge and I was right. The building itself is in need of redecoration. The rooms are lacking - there was a massive empty area in the room where a sofa bed would have been. When I booked I clearly made the booking for 2 adults but we were left with only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel. As the sofa bed had been removed there was only 1 chair so one of us had to sit on the bed. I've learnt my lesson - never again stay in a Travelodge.
stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Chester with friends . Easy to get to the city from here , either by bus , taxi or walking . Rooms clean and comfortable, although friends room was was not replenished with tea, coffee etc after the first night !
Hotel is attatched to a Toby Inn where we had a nice breakfast .... 2 for 1 !!!! The staff here were great and put the rugby on for us on the big screen .
The only issue we had was that our sleep was disturbed by a drinks machine vibrating all night in the corridor ( we were in room 1) .I was tempted to turn it off !!!!
