Lovely location and attractive gardens. Hospitable and helpful host and great breakfasts.

However, our room, which was probably the smallest was cluttered (in part by owners ornaments) and uncomfortable. There were 4 small chairs - all too small to sit on with any ease and a small portable TV which was imposible to view from the bed . The wash hand basin was opposite the bed and not located in the reasonable size shower room/WC. Lovely towels though. Our main problem with the room was the dangerous shower. It was either scalding hot or cold. The only way to escape being burnt was to jump quickly out of the shower.

I am sure other rooms in the property were bigger and better but I think we drew the short straw.

Our family of 4 booked two rooms for two nights over New Years and had a wonderful stay in this beautiful country home. About 15 min. drive into Chester with easy parking to be found for sightseeing and shopping. There are two pubs near The Mount for evening meals. Their website is quite accurate. We loved relaxing in the living room and breakfasts were excellent. Our older teens enjoyed being in their own room with bath, etc. I would highly recommend The Mount.
