“The Dené. A visit to remember.”
I arrived to the Dené in the early evening and was greeted by very enthusiastic and approachable staff members in the reception. Looking around the hotel, my first reactions were great, and the décor brought some lovely childhood memories. Some may say that the hotel has aged badly, but I think it brought out a sense of youthful nostalgia. For those who enjoy the odd tipple, the Dené can only be appreciated like a fine wine. If you're not quite the
connoisseur you'd wished to be, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find a bar which serves a range of both alcoholic and soft drinks located near the reception area. Water is free on tap of course for those people with a slightly lesser budget.
The room itself was a lesson in gorgeous simplicity. The centrepiece of the room was a pair of lovely, sumptuous beds; and it was decorated by numerous paintings which only added another dimension to its already homely qualities. It wasn't until I'd completely soaked up my surroundings did I venture to the bathroom, which was both clean and fully refurbished.
All in all, my stay was fantastic and I'd definitely recommend the Dené to anyone who wants to experience a hotel bursting with character and friendliness. Trust me, you won't regret it.
