I booked this hotel for a spa break for my daughter and myself. After booking I read some of the reviews on this site and my expectations weren't good. However I wondered whether it was the same hotel the reviews were so different to my experience. The staff were helpful and polite particularly in the spa. The room was spacious and very warm with a comfortable bed. I didn't see any evidence in the public areas of carpets being threadbare or paintwork dull in fact the public areas were delightful with comfortable armchairs and all in all a lovely setting. We didn't try the restaurant but had a bar meal which was brought to us quickly and was very tasty. The pool in the spa was lovely and the photographs on the website are an accurate reflection. My daughter said that the sauna was quite cold with a draft but the jucuzzi and steam room were lovely. The location was 5 - 10 minutes drive outside Chester but felt like you were in the countryside. My only negative comment is that I think the 3 o clock check in is too late (although you are welcome to use the spa before that). It was the first time I've arrived at a hotel early and not been allowed to check in. However that is a very minor critisism of what was a lovely relaxing weekend.

I recently stayed at the hotel costing £278 for a night and spa package. It was the worst experience, old and dated noisey and dirty. Short staffed. To top it all i e-mailed a complaint and was told they would look into mu complaint and get backto me......... after 19 days i got back in touch with them to ask where they were up to and was fobbed off with a basic e-mail.

Recently visited Crabwall Manor for a Spa weekend with my sister, the deal included a 2 course lunch, two spa treatments, four course evening meal overnight stay including breakfast.
Hotel in desperate need of a drastic make over, very dated, carpets threadbare, paintwork dull. We had problems with our first room, mainly the bathroom, tiles falling out in the shower cubicle, part of the bath panel missing to name a few problems (room 27), reported it to reception who apologised profusely and explained there had been problems of late with repairs etc. I explained that the Spa was my sisters xmas present and I felt it wasnt acceptable for her to stay in the room allocated. A kind gentleman called Philip dealt with us efficiently moving us to room one called the Edmund, which was at the corner of the original building, tho again dated it was a vast improvement, which a sitting room, bathroom and bedroom over two levels with a lovely marble fire place.
The hotel and spa staff were fantastic as was the service they provided.The back/shoulder and neck massage was so relaxing as were the facials, the gym and facilities were excellent and so clean.
The food at the restaurant was mouth watering, especially the Salmon Parcel starter and the lamb/beef and chicken maincourses,as for the chocolate torte and white chocolate and coconut cheesecake they were orgasmic !!! All a credit to the chef 5 ***** food and service.
This time the hotel decore, let the staff and service down.

stayed in a suite which was excellent ,very warm, spotless and spacious. Breakfast was good and freshly cooked.staff were friendly especially in the spa which was also excellent, new carpet has been laid, please bear in mind when booking a hotel of this age it is not a modern run of the mill motorway hotel it has character, would definitely stay here again
