“Pretty average”

We stayed in the original part of the hotel. Room was large, two double beds as there were three adults in the same room so this was welcome. Room very hot overnight, we struggled to regulate temp. Internal view, noise as we were overlooking ac for kitchen it seems. Bathroom tired, in need of revamp. Hotel itself is in a good spot for station & taxi rank outside. 10min cab ride into city centre. Don't walk as dodgy subway that shold be avoided. Bar drinks were expensive. Breakfast was a good selection, although it was very busy and food was lukewarm. Wouldn't choose to stay here again.

“No heating in room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

I stayed at the Queen hotel on 7th February 2012 for one night on business. It was -4 degrees Centigrade and there was no heating in the room. I complained to reception on my way out for the evening and when I returned the room was freezing. Most of my fellow colleagues had the same problem, but I discovered the following morning that some of them had received fan heaters.

“good hotel but expensive parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

hotel parking costs 15 pounds a night at the weekends. An expensive extra. Breakfast is great. hotel staff generally good. Concierge is great. Great advice on where to go for a walk. Hotel is a good 15 minute walk from centre. Rooms good. Bar has character and the hotel itself is calm and relaxing., Interesting pictures and items on the wall. Only problem we had was when we noticed the remote control was missing and we rang reception. Lady was unhelpful. She said they were all being used. She would look for one and get back to me. She never did.

“Brilliant Stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We have stayed in this hotel twice now and it's fabulous. The staff, food and accommodation is second to none. So handy to the train station especially if you want to travel into Liverpool. The grounds of the hotel are lavishly decorated with pieces from the museum, which is a plus for photos for any occasion.

“OUTSTANDING”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Booked a two night break and have only good things to say about the hotel and staff. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was fantastic, warm and clean and very well laid out. The restuarant was great and we were greeted at breakfast with bucks fizz (not the group, that would have been ridiculous) :o) The choice of food was huge and an accoustic duo played in the corner making a very relaxed ambience. i would recommend this hotel totally, the building maintains its victorian heritage and is situated right across from the railway station. The ONLY nag is that the car park was £15 a night, bit much on top of your bill
