“Wonderful Stay”

The hotel is beautiful, it is well designed and there is a definite feeling of luxury throughout.
My room was in the Kings Quarters which is a little walk through the corridors but it was nice as I got to see where the bar and restaurants were along the way. The only problem with the Kings Quarters is that there is only 1 lift covering so many floors max of 4 people including luggage. Once I arrived at my room though I could not have been happier, it was spotlessly clean and the feeling of luxury continued in all the fixtures and fittings. Beautiful bathroom with seperate bath and shower and the biggest bed I have ever slept in.
I should have had a bottle of wine in my room on arrival which had been overlooked but a quick call to reception easily rectified this.
Nearly all the staff were very friendly throughout and always greeted you in the corridors etc, all except the Restaurant Manager in the Grill restuarant where I went for breakfast. As a single female he made me feel very unwelcome and I almost felt like he spoke to me with contempt as I came down around 10.40 when breakfast finishes at 11. Maybe he was just having a bad day?
The reception staff were lovely, the door man was very friendly, the housekeeping staff suprised me with their cheery demeanors on a Sunday morning, a young man from housekeeping even offered to carry my bag down the stairs whilst I was waiting for the lift on check out.
The young lady in the secret spa gave me the best massage Ive had for a long time and I couldnt thank her enough for removing some knots.
All in all a wonderful stay and the majority of the staff are a credit to the hotel, I left feeling happy and relaxed.

“Smart, friendly, comfortable hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Stayed one night in the Premier Queen Hotel for a brief first visit to Chester and were very impressed by the smart, well-appointed room in the 'Kings Quarter' extension. The room was smallish but very clean and comfortable. Staff were very efficient and helpful e.g. kettle was not in the room on arrival but one was quickly provided by Brett who was extremely helpful. A good feature of this hotel is that all the staff are local with an extensive knowledge of Chester. The Visitors Guide to Chester provided by Reception is invaluable.Chester is a compact city so in 2 days we were able to walk part of the historic city walls, visit the impressive Cathedral, shop in the unique 'Rows' visit the Grosvenor Museum and Cheshire Military Museum (very informative staff on the desk). We dined at the nearby Siam Thai restaurant at the end of City Road where the waiters perform a knife-juggling act on the lower restaurant floor - specify you wish to see this performance when booking. Great lunch at the Sticky Walnut restaurant. Still lots to see and do in fascinating Chester so will revisit soon and definitely stay at the Best Western Premier Queen Hotel.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 5th floor in the Kings Quarter new extension and it was very quiet.

“Outstanding.”

Wow, after such a bad experience at another hotel in Chester, where we stayed for 30 mins, this is what we came away for.

Rang the hotel to check for rooms, very helpful on the telephone. Got to the hotel, walked through the doors, taken a back by the decor and the atmosphere.

Greeted by a very friendly man at reception, who could not have been anymore helpful. Check in was very quick but very informative.

Stayed in the newer part of the hotel, the Kings section, breathtaking decor. All decked out with Roman artifacts and the colours used in the hotel, were beautiful.

Went to our room, opened the door and it was just perfect. The massive King Size Bed, the beautiful decor, the spotless bathroom, everything was perfect down to the very cute Teddy on the bed. The room had a flat screen Tv on the wall with all channels, a hairdryer, air con, iron and dimable lights.
The bath was on the very large side and the walk in shower was very spacious and very nice.

We asked the Porter and the guy at reception, where they would recomend to get some food, took their very helpful advice and had a very lovely, inexpensive meal.

After our first night, we went down to breakfast, to be greeted by the host and a glass of champagne and orange juice.
The breakfast had a huge selection, from cereal, cold buffet, hot buffet, pastries, toasts and a selction of juices. Your tea or coffe order was taken from you the moment you were taken, and arrived within minutes and was piping hot.

Nothing was too much hassle from the staff, who were all very friendly. The special offer of 3 free drinks per person, per night, made everything that little bit more perfect.

The gardens were stunning, all decked out with Roman colums and statues, the lights at night made it very romantic and beautiful.

The hotel was very close to Chehire Oaks (discount voucher at reception). The city Walls and also Chester and all its other sights.

I could not recommend this Hotel enough. It was just perfect and the staff ( especially the guy on reception) are a great asset to this hotel.
We enjoyed our stay and its surroundingss so much that we even came away with a wedding brochure of this hotel and its affiliated partners.

The Best Western/Feathers Premier Queen Hotel is one of the best I have stayed in.

“Sensational hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

Sensational stay. Probably the best hotel I have stayed in for 20 years. Started with free complementary upgrade to the Kings apartments, a practice more hotels should adopt when they have empty rooms. Then the maitre d' was very knowledgable about my diet (gluten-free), pointing out what dishes I could and could not have. On top of this the concierge recommended restaurants in Chester which would suit me with my offspring and their children. Also near station, and rapid bus service to city centre.

I will be returning when I am back in the UK.
