“Oh My God........If this was the last place available I wouldn't stay!!!”

My colleague and I stayed the same time as the last review and we were also at the front in room 3 the noise was awful and totally destroyed any possibility of sleep. It was the worst place either of us had ever been to, we were there for work purposes and it was booked short notice by our employers. The whole place was stuck in a time warp...The carpets were stained and grotty there were stains on the walls too, one morning I woke to find a long snail trail beside my bed with snail poo at the end of it! It lacked even the most basic of things like soap beside the sink, we put a bar out and it was taken away....Using the shower was an ordeal and you chanced your luck between being scalded or frozen with the up and down temperatures. The customer service was terrible, when we arrived there was no explanation of the layout of the hotel, the parking arrangements or breakfast times. I could go on and on but I won't. All I can say is there isn't one redeeming feature for this hotel and I feel sorry for the next poor person who ends up there....

“Do not go here!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2010

This hotel needs pulling down - or some serious money spending on it. The portugeuse owner is making money out of people without working for it and doesnt provide a clean place to stay. We stayed at the front of the hotel and out of four nights were woken before seven each day by either someone drilling in the dining room, the drains being pumped or delivery trucks.
We would definantly never stay here again - this place needs to be shut down by the tourist board!

“OLD FASHIONED DINGY SMELT VERY MUSTY HOTEL INSPECTOR WHERE ARE YOU”

Oh what a shame the hotel is in a lovely position and our room overlooked the harbour - that was the only good thing to say. It is very very dated everything the avocado bathroom which was well past its day to the formica chest of drawers lined with christmas wrapping paper to the brown frayed carpet - it just felt dirty as you walk up the stairs the smell was musty. Our windows wouldnt close as the flowers were growing inside not so good when you consider you are right on the harbour front with bars and outside seating below - its noisy well past midnight. We checked out after one night and tried to explain to the owner why but of course he thought the rooms were fine. For £2 more a night we moved to a hotel nearby that was so clean and modern no comparison.

“needs a complete upgrade”

we were booked to stay three nights but only stayed one, couldn't leave fast enough. Our room ws number 5 at the back, small, claustrophobic and very shabby, a window that looked out onto an expanse of grey utility buildings and the rather cheap looking floral duvet cover and pillow slips somehow just lacked that fresh feeling that inspires confidence, maybe just because it was worn, tired out like the rest of the building, which inspires one star ..we could only imagine this is due to its lovely location. Two other members of the family stayed in harvour facing rooms, with windows that couldn't be closed due to the petunia filled window boxes which were very pretty, but which prevented a good night's sleep. They didn't sleep much at all with all the noise. To be fair their rooms were a good large size and one of the rooms sported a very fresh and new looking bed linen set, but everything else was shabby and worn.
Understandably the manager was angry that we were all leaving, and charged us all more than the agreed rate quoted for a longer stay, which is fair enough, and we were sorry he lost out on the business, but we hated the place and just couldn't get away fast enough, sorry folks, this place needs to be taken on by someone ready to make a great wee hotel out of a shabby wee place that's in a great location. So much potential there.

“Terrible Food”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 July 2010

My wife and I had visited this hotel many years ago and had always enjoyed the seafood so we thought that we would return again - what a mistake and I also wished that I had read the other eviews before we visited.
One of the things that we had always enjoyed about Jersey was the fresh seafood which we had always been served with here so we both went for the Crab Salad. As soon as it arrived I knew that it was not fresh and had been frozen because it was tasteess, watery and the white meat appeared grey. In addition to this some of the dead mens fingers had been left in so if we hadn't known what to look for we could have been quite ill.
When I complained I was informed that they had been frozen to keep them fresh !!!!! When you consder the sea is only 10 metres away and around the corner there are some german bunkers that have been flooded which contain thousands of live crab and lobsters this was a very poor excuse. I asked the waiter to inform the Manager of our comments but no one turned up so we paid the full amount and left. So if you like fresh seafood I wouldn't bother going here.
