Very central convenient location for Ely. The house is full of Victoriana "quirky" bits and pieces which add to the ambiance. The twin bedded room we stayed in was clean and spacious and nicely furnished although the added bathroom en suite was a little cramped and if you were over UK ladies dress size 16 you would have a problem sitting on the loo or getting in the bath. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and especial commendation for the tea!! .There was a little bit of traffic noise but only slight late evening and early morning but not during the night. Two comments. Bath towels - lovely white and fluffy but VERY small for a bath towel. I'm a size 14 and it didnt go round me. Secondly -what a shame that you have not made more of the potential of your garden. It would have been a lovely place for guests to sit in being walled, peaceful and enclosed but instead it is an inpetetrable overgown jungle!! As the state of the garden is the first thing you see as you walk in to the property, it detracts from the house. Cut down some trees, pull or trim back up the huge overgown shrubs, pollard the overhandging chestnuts and let in some light!!!
