+ Bed had a good mattress, but a little small for two.

+ Location is so/so: B&B is not too far away from the city center, only 15 min with the bus; on Sunday, however, the bus doesn't go that often.

+ Breakfast was good.

- Our room was next to the kitchen on the ground floor; we were woken up involuntarily at 7.30 on Sunday due to the noise. This makes the prize 75 GBP for a double room with shared facilities even for Cambridge just too high.

You just won't believe the high standard this guest house has to offer. the service was always excellent and always with a smile. nothign was to much hassle for the owners michelle and colin and made sure you felt welcome and at home. i am partially disabled and they made sure that i didn't need for anything. And best of all there is a fridge freezer in your room, in the very large kitchen diner you had your own cupboard, with key , to feel with your own items between 11am - 9pm you could go into the kitchen and cook yourself a meal with the food you have brought. Iceni house has there own website and from th picture's are true reflection of what the guest house is like.

I picked this place for the night before my wedding and it was perfect! Everyone could have time together but there was still enough space not to feel cramped. The rooms were decorated beautifully. I stayed in the Haven room and loved watching television in the bath! All the guests enjoyed the breakfast.

We stayed here for the duration of the Cambridge Folk Festival weekend. We found it on the web and then booked it by phone. We booked late as we chickened out of camping at the last minute, so we did not have an awful lot of choice - all the hotels were fully booked. We chose this guest house because it is between the Festival site and Cambridge City centre and we planned to walk into Cambridge some mornings for sightseeing and shopping. We had also read some glowing reviews especially about the "lovely" breakfasts.

However we were told on the phone that there would be no breakfasts or housekeeping during the weekend as in the past the owners had found it impractical with people coming and going at different times. We asked if the price would be the same as the normal bed and breakfast rate expecting to get a slight reduction but that went unheeded and were told there would be some food provided so we could cook our own breakfasts.

The guest house itself is undeniably very nice,clean and well kitted out,and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was quite small however, the shower room even more so. It took 20 minutes to walk to the Festival and 40 to the city centre. We were provided with some food but not really enough for two adults for four breakfasts.

If we went to the Festival again we would not stay here as we felt it was quite pricey for what turned out to be self catering. We would instead book (early!) a hotel near the city and drive in every day to the Festival.
