If you like your hotels to all look the same, be bland and faceless then Worth House is not for you.
If on the other hand you like a warm friendly helpful host and to feel like you are really being welcomed into their home then book into Worth House.
Guido greeted us with a smile and spent quite a while chatting with us, felt he really was interested in us as people not just as paying customers. He introduced us to his wife Maria the following morning who was equally as friendly.
The room was gorgeous, spotless without looking sterile, very welcoming and comfortable. Very comfortable bed, double glazing so hardly any road noise even though we were at the front overlooking the ring road. For a ring road though it is pretty quiet apart from during rush hour.
Breakfast was spot on, with Guido encouraging us to take fruit and cheese and cake away with us to snack on later in the day, Decent coffee and Guido's breakfasts cooked to order were worth the short wait.
Others have left rather mixed comments about the parking arrangements. I emailed prior to our visit to check this out and yes there is parking, You are not parking right by the building but behind the building next door. The parking is pretty secure as not on the main road. I was more than happy to leave my car there for a couple of days. Yes it would take you a minute or two to walk from your parking space to the front door but then Cambridge is a very pedestrianised city so if you werent happy with the parking arrangements then Cambridge is not the place for you!
Would I recommend this hotel to a friend? Yes I would do, even my parents who have quite exacting standards.
