We booked this B&B at short notice as we were attending a wedding in cambridge i had to relay alot on the website for information the discription of the room as boutique is false there is nothing boutique about this B&B , We arrived on the saturday the lady had given us the code for the door and left our key in the room on opening the room door it hit the corner of the bed not a good start the room was very small and shabby, the bathroom leaved alot to be desired as the door to that also opened onto the bed and was very cramped and had mold growing on the shower walls, We also had no window but the old back door which opened to a small enclosed area that housed the drainage hole for the whole house so every time anyone flushed the toilet or had a shower all we could hear was the water entering the drain outside our door, the bed was very uncomfortable and the side tables were covered in dust, Sunday we got up feeling rather wirey after a poor nights sleep ready for breakfast we both asked for a full english only to be told that that would be an extra £5 each this is not stated anywhere on the website we declined to pay the extra and had eggs on toast which was very greasy the other option to us was cereal. We paid £70 pounds for the room and we were expecting an experience to honour that amount of money but this did not happen we would never recommend this B&B to anyone and i think it should be renamed B & Cereal not bed and breakfast.

Booked this online after a decent star rating from AA. Boy their standards must be low. I booked a twin room, asked for an early breakfast. They only had a double and there was no such thing as an early breakfast. Service was abrupt, no ID requested (what sort of place is this?!) very small terraced house, busy road out front and everything in a poor state of repair. Looked around, saw a Travelodge which was palatial in comparison. Cancelled the reservation and I'm still waiting to get my money back.
Seriously, why bother?

As an American, a hotel is mainly used for 2 things...showering and sleeping. This place is not good for either. The shower has a box that controls the water...if there was any...absolutely NO water pressure. The trickle you get is either too hot or too cold...there is no warm. I have not washed my hair all week...UGH!!! Taking a sponge bath is actually EASIER...
Sleeping...a lumpy in dire need of replacement mattress with a huge outta place 4 poster bed frame. Tasteless mirrors everywhere...too much clutter in a super tiny room...and we had the BIG room...
Breakfast...pay to eat elsewhere.
This hotel does not deserve any stars. But in fairness, the housekeeping was good.
Tried to cancel...that was a useless endeavor.

Me and my friend were looking online for a nice b&b to stay in for an overnight trip to Cambridge for my birthday. Brooklands website is lovely and didn't mind paying £68 as it looked so nice. Included in this price was supposedly central heating, telephones, free wifi, freeview tv.
When we arrived we had to ring to see where to park as there were no signs to a car park. You have to park on the vets car park which is poorly lit and quite a walk from the b&b. On arrival we were not even asked names, just taken to our twin room which turned out to be the tiniest attic room! The banister was loose walking up to it! You could only stand up in the middle of the room. The central heating was in fact a very small oil radiator which didn't give a lot of heat (we were so cold). The tv did not work! The furniture was dirty and dusty and the only way of having my beside lamp plugged in was by stretching an extension lead from under the other bed (which I tripped over!). The tap in the shower room didn't work, and this was the only place to hang coats (in the shower/toliet room) not nice!!
The continental breakfast was cereal and toast - very basic!
The decor was very over the top, mirrors everywhere, not my taste and not how the website looks.
When pointing out how disappointed we were, we had no apology. Not a friendly woman!
Overall a very disappointing experience, we did consider not staying but she had taken my friends card details prior to booking. My friend also cancelled her card after as on other reviews we read she had taken extra service charges that were not mentioned on booking/payments.
Don't stay here!
