We were in Aylesbury for an event at the Waterside Theatre and from the minute we walked through the door at Ardenwood and received a very friendly welcome from James, we knew we would enjoy our stay. We stayed in Room 3, which had the ensuite bath and separate shower. It was was spacious, had a very big comfortable bed and large flat-screen TV. We can't really speak highly-enough of the place - the location is great (just a 5-10 minute walk into the town centre) with very secure car parking. I chose the cooked-breakfast option, which was well worth it, but there is a great selection of cereals, yoghurts, toast, preserves, eggs etc to get you started for the day. You are also provided with robes and all toiletries for your stay, so it is definitely several notches above your average B&B.
But the one thing you notice is how much care Arden and James put into this place. They literally welcome you into their home (including their lounge if you aren't heading out) and make you feel like they really do want you be at home. They put time into things like preparing a guide to a range of local restaurants and have even negotiated discounts for residents - we can recommend the local Greek place, especially with 15% off! If you don't want to go out, then you can get a delivery from the Indian just down the road and a table will be set-up for you at the house. There is an eye for detail and it is obvious that the owners take great pride in the service they offer... and rightly so! Your genial hosts are talkative, friendly and always on-hand to help. We would be happy to recommend this place to anyone and would gladly return.
