Brickwall Farm Cottage, Weston Turville, Aylesbury: Homely and Welcoming.
I have just spent four nights staying with David and Janet in their very pleasant cottage. I was attending RAF Halton, which is only ten minutes (max) away by car, so the cottage was very convenient.
David and Janet were the best hosts one could hope for. They made me feel welcome, were good sources of information, conversed easily but allowed you to treat the rented room as your home. The twin room was comfortably furnished, with en-suite shower and wash basin. There was a kettle and a variety of materials for making hot drinks - coffee, tea, hot chocolate and fruit teas. Janet's breakfasts were perfect - prepared freshly for your while you took grapefruit, fruit juice, and/or cereal.
There are several public houses in Weston Turville offering hot meals as well as drinks. There is a Fish & Chip shop and a general store if that takes your fancy.
I enjoyed evening walks around the village, which has plentiful and varied footpaths. I particularly recommend a walk from the end of Mill Lane, across to Church Lane, turning left to head out over a waterway to a footpath tee-junction, turning right and then picking a route across the field down to the church, which is well worth the visit. From the church, proceed down Church Walk and take any one of a number of footpaths back to Brickwall Farm Cottage. David has prepared a small map of the local area including a number of the footpaths.
I hope that you enjoy your stay as much as I did.
