We never actually stayed in these apartments. I booked a month before for the Archfield Road apartments. I contacted Portland Apartments 2 weeks prior to our arrival to check on the booking as I had not heard anything. I was told we would receive an email a few days before our stay. We received the email on the Tuesday before our Friday stay. Luckily my partner checked the details on the invoice the next day so that he could programme the destination into his SatNav. He informed me that it was a different address to the one I had booked. It was not in a particularly nice area of Bristol, so we decided to cancel the booking and book in a hotel in the city.
I called Portland Apartments to ask why they had changed without informing us, and was told that the boiler in the Archfield Road apartment was broken and they had to move us. This was not in the body of the email, so I assume they thought if they did not inform us, it would be too late. They promised to provide a full refund. However, 2 weeks later, the refund had not materialised. I contacted them again, and was told someone from the accounts department would contact me. I called the next day, as no-one had contacted me, and was told by a nice lady in accounts that no-one had advised her to refund my account. She told me it would be done straight away, which it was.
If you do decide to stay here, just make sure they put you in the apartment requested.
