Stayed here for 3 nights in room 5! Good food, good service and good ale and good value for money!

Wow, this really is a little gem of a place. Nestled away down a lovely quite country lane with magnificent views across the valley.
We stayed in room 1 which is finished in lovely yellow and black decor, quality furnishings with a great Victorian roll top bath. Felt more like a home than an hotel room.
Restaurant service was spot on, food out of this world. I would highly recommend the Steak and Stilton Oggies !!
Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a quite couple of days.

We stayed here for a friend's wedding in the locality. Room was comfortable, clean and had a large bathroom with excellent power shower and separate bath tub. Was perhaps a bit modern for the style of the inn, but the bed was very comfortable nonetheless. The food in the pub downstairs was also good.

The service from the staff however was what really made this place extra special. When we were unable to get a local taxi to drive us to the wedding venue, one of the staff offered her car straight away and drove us there without accepting any money! She even offered to pick us up! Full English breakfast in the morning was cooked to order and they even dug some marmite out for my friend when she asked for it. A lovely place.

If I had to take an alien to an English country pub, this would be it.
We arrived on a bustling Saturday afternoon where a local pheasant shoot had taken
over the snug bar, they happily moved aside so we could be shown to our room,
which was a stunning four-poster suite, with a little living room, a Victorian bathroom
and a roof-terrace. The view from the bedroom was amazing, with wild deer in the
field opposite, a nice touch is they supply binoculars in the room.
We had drinks in the snug bar before diner, which was now full of friendly locals
who were happy to include us in their conversations.
We didnt eat here as we dining close by with friends, but it was full of diners which was good sign.
Breakfast was cooked to order and was really good with proper bacon, great sausages,
decent coffee and a Paper to read.
A quick walk after breakfast in the beautiful countryside around the pub capped of a
perfect night away.
