Miserable staff. Ignorant management. Food is OK but there must be a reason why the place is ALWAYS empty? That'll be the staff and management then.
My partner and I had to organise a last minute leaving party as our plans to emigrate came around quicker than expected. We struggled to find a venue at such short notice but eventually stumbled across the Wheatsheaf who advised that their function room was available.
We booked the function room a month in advance, booked all the B & B rooms out, sent out invitations to friends and family who were travelling form all over the country to attend. We had 3 phone conversations and one face to face visit to view the room and iron out details etc.
2 weeks before the party I called to book another room and was told that they "were not going to honour" my booking. The worst part of it was that they refused to give a reason why and ultimately told my partner that we had made the whole thing up.
Any business who throws £1,000 of business down the drain for no good reason is absolutely NOT worth dealing with in my opinion.
They are an absolute sham with absolutely no idea about customer service.
