I stayed for one night on a work trip to Bristol. Its quirky and the bedrooms are small and there was a little mold in the bathroom. But its fun, the staff were great, food was great: try the scallops with ham hock and the breakfast was lovely.

Unlike recent reviews we found the hotel quiet on the Saturday night we stayed. We felt the room was ver good value for money and much better appointed than standard rooms in chain hotels that would cost the same. We loved the decor and the little extras - decanter of sherry, bowl of fruit and good quality toiletries. The room wasn't the biggest but it was well fitted with modern made to measure fittings, the shower was excellent once I managed to get the temperature control sorted - but better too much hot water than a cold or tepid trickle that many hotels provide! We booked it for a quiet night away while our son had a party at home, so we appreciated the DVD & CD player and took along "The Kings Speech" to watch after a pleasant meal across the road at Brown's restaurant. We would certainly recommend it, though I imagine it might be noisy if the club downstairs is busy.

People shouting outside. Music pounding. Complained to reception. Fobbed off! Bathroom moldy, fan noisy. This place recommended by the University! Someone needs to review that!

We recently spent a weekend at The Berkeley Square Hotel. The service from all members of staff was friendly and efficient. The Lounge and Restaurant areas are comfortable and the Bar a little quirky! Rooms are satisfacory and well appointed although not the biggest and the bathroom fittings are dated. The location of the Hotel is excellent. Overall a very pleasant stay.
