“Super service, tasty meal, amazing ice-cream!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Just wanted to write a quick review following an impromptu visit to The Bell last weekend.

We happened to be in the area and liked the look of the Bell after driving past on our way through the village centre and thought we'd give it a go for Sunday lunch and we're so glad we did.

The staff made us feel welcome, even though the place was really busy (and it had a nice buzz about it) and they gave us their last table for two (all other tables were occupied or reserved, which is a good sign).

Even though there was a large table next to us and people were arriving steadily for the other reserved tables, the staff promptly took our order for drinks, then came back to take our food order. Our mains came out quickly, were very hot and fresh and the lasange in particular was really tasty and the luxury ice-cream was absolutely delicious. The whole menu was very reasonably priced, I would highly recommended this place.

I would certainly visit this warm, nicely decorated, friendly pub again for food and/or drinks whenever in the area.

“Weekend Break”

Just spent the weekend at The Bell, got a brill offer with Old English Inn.
Had a good room in the pub, our room was small but comfy with oak beams, quaint, with large bathroom, very clean.
Breakfast was lovely with excellent choice including cereals, fruit, croissant or full English.
We ate in the hotel both nights, very good, but there was a choice of several restaurants within 5 minutes walk.

“Great Value Hotel - Go For the Hotel Building Rather Than the Pub”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This hotel is actually spread over 2 buildings across the road from each other. As the title says try to get a room in the newer building rather than the old, but beautiful, pub.

The rooms in the pub are small and cramped but full of charm. Our room was on a very pronounced tilt which felt odd.

Breakfast was excellent and was served rather than being self service.

Good hotel, close to the Abbey, safari park and Milton Keynes.

“Service that went over and above!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

My husband was taken ill during our night's stay in this hotel. When we requested a doctor via the hotel reception in the morning, not only did the staff member, Emma, ring for, and arrange an immediate appointment at the local doctor, but she took us there in her own car, and picked us up again. This is amazing service and we are very grateful to Emma for all her help that went well over and above what should be expected.

Onto the hotel: it's comfortable, with a lovely bed and shower.. The staff are friendly and very helpful and the breakfast very good. Everything you need for a good stay in a hotel.

Thanks again, and we'd recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room that is not on the road that goes through the village.
