We first looked up on Tripadvisor & then visited the Inn at Woburn, before booking what was an important family occasion. Not wanting anything to spoil our important day, we were careful, and the research proved fruitfull.
The hotel is beautifuly appointed, but traditional and not too pretentious. All the staff were very attentive with friendly smiles and a seemingly genuine wish to be helpful. We were situated in the bar area, around, (and in!), the huge fireplace and more chairs were brought over to accomodate the twelve adults and several grandchildren.
We opted for the 'afternoon tea' which, with a small delay, was served on high cake plate things, (sorry, can't remember the name for the them), and although it did'nt look a lot, (at £16.25 per head), actually was filling and tasted fine. Five minutes later, a few more dishes came out with Marmite & cucumber sandwiches. Unusual and, (unlike mentioned in other reviews), were liked and vanished quickley.
My father and stepmother said their (ground floor), room was lovely and staff were also attentive to their needs. They also ate in the restaurant on the previous evening and were very impressed, (and they know about quality dining).
Would I recommend The Inn? Certainly. We had no issues with the staff or the hotel and will use it again, first to try out the excellent restaurant, but also next time we need a party venue.
Our thanks to the management & staff.
