“Relaxation, comfort and peace”

Another brilliant stay with Sandra & Chris in their lovely home away from it all. The room was very comfortable, the food fantastic with plenty of choice for vegetarians and carnivores and Sandra & Chris couldn't do enough for us to make us feel welcome from the moment we arrived to leaving. It was a real treat to watch the birds (woodpecker, nuthatch) feeding at the window while having breakfast. The log fire on a cold winter's evening was heaven - we didn't want to leave and will definitely be visiting again.

“A place to recharge your life!”

We stayed at Trawscoed Mawr on a summer weekend while up in Corwen to go to a friend's wedding. The location is fantastic - hidden away in the hills so that you feel you are the only people within 50 miles, while in fact you're only about ten minutes from the main A5 road. Sandra was one of the friendliest hosts we have ever met (and I seem to have stayed in a lot of B&Bs recently). She also cooks a brilliant breakfast. We stayed in the Old Bakery room which is split into two floors. We actually regretted not having much time there (because of being at the wedding party all day and night one of the days), but spent one of the evenings playing scrabblein the living room, sipping wine and star-gazing on the front porch. PS My partner left some clothes by accident, and had not noticed several days later until Sandra emailed to ask if they were ours and posted them back the next day. We can't recommend TM highly enough!

“Trawscoed Mawr is a wonderful 'home away from home'! a HIDDEN GEM!!”

This was not our first visit to Trawscoed Mawr and we know it won't be our last! Sandra and Chris welcomed us like old friends yet again and we felt 'at home' again as soon as we stepped inside their wonderful home. If a bed and breakfast (quite the wrong discription!) could earn 6 stars then this one would without a doubt! The spotlessly clean rooms are all beautifully decorated with Laura Ashely papers and soft furnishings and there are beautiful little finishing touches everywhere. The 'stunning' bathroom had everything one could ever need for a most comfortable stay, the towels are displayed so beautifully that its a shame to spoil the effect! After a very comfortable nights sleep we found the usual 'amazing' choice at breakfast and really enjoyed the free range duck eggs which were freshly laid that very morning just yards from the house! We also stayed 'home' for Sandra's wonderfully cooked three course dinners both nights, in the fantastic dining room warmed by the log fire, (Sandra and Chris are more than happy to supply glasses at dinner if you take your own wines) she really should open a restaurant, the food is second to none that we've ever tasted!! Nothing is a trouble to Sandra or Chris and they will do everything they can to make your stay with them memorable. We were entertained by the dozens of different birds that visit the bird tables outside and also the red kites in the valley and the owl in the evenings. We'd really love to keep this 'gem' to ourselves a bit longer but that would be very selfish, though we have covered our backs and booked our next stay already! Thank you Sandra and Chris for another wonderful, restful weekend 'home and away'! Jo & John

“Heaven on Earth”

A fantastic place, not experienced anything like it anywhere. The greeting from chris and sandra made me feel at home immediatley and that was only at the gate, once inside and showed around i felt this is all i could ask for. fabulous rooms, decor , and country side with an abundance of wild life. Nothing is any trouble for our hosts even with dietary requirements. We awoke to the smell of breakfast which was cooked to perfection with fresh eggs from their own ducks and hens. While sitting outside listening to the prefect peace before we set out for a walk we decided to book an evening meal and glad we did also cooked to perfection and much better than in alot of top resturants. Sandra also makes her own jams and chutney`s very very tasty you must try them. This place is my Heaven on Earth and will visit lots to recharge my batteries. Thank you so much for making my stay the best i have had in along time. See you soon

even before reaching this lovely house we where greeted at the gate by the wonderful site of three red kite flying over head then shortly after by red legged grouse running along the track infront of us (good start) next we were greeted by Chris & Sandra who showed us into there wonderful home. Accomodation a very high standard at the same time homely with lots of interesting features eg inglenook fire place with log burner beamed ceilings, shutters at the windows and lots more. our party consisted of three couples. We had the most wondeful breakfast with Sandra's own free range duck or hens eggs' finished off with toast and home made jam. The evening meal was as good as the best we've had' nothing's to much trouble. We all agreed it's the best place any of us have stayed thank you both for the memorable time we spent in you wonderful home
