Get the ribs! Dave and Cheryl have a small menu of specialty items they do as well as any restaurant can. It's a pricey place for a town like Wells and in the summer they can be overrun with customers and service suffers, but it's worth the food. Get the double order of ribs, it's worth the $3 extra dollars. Atmosphere is great and the owners are spectacular people.

What a wonderful experience we had in Canada for our 40th wedding anniversary. The Bear's Paw Restaurant was a delightfully unexpected highlight. One of those gems you didn't expect to find on your travels but turns out to be one of your best experiences. The Bears Paw is found in Wells on the Barkerville Highway on the way to or from the beautifully restored gold rush town of Barkerville, BC. The meals show exquisite imagination in preparation and presentation in a cosy personal atmosphere where you are likely to be served by the chefs Dave Jorgenson and Cheryl Macarthy who must be locally famous after running this establishment for 14 years. By the way we brought home a large pen and ink drawing of a goldminer drawn by a local artist. Highly recommended.

Menu varied with excellent choices for all tastes. Meal portions were plentiful. Food was superb. The staff was friendly and knowlegable about the surrounding area. All round it was an excellent dining experience.
