“Relaxing Visit, Complimentary Upgrade Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

Beautiful location, relaxing property, lovely staff! We spent two nights and it wasn't enough... When we checked in there were only two other guests at the Inn so we were upgraded to a complete suite for no additional charge - amazing!!

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed as it was December, so we did not get to sample their cuisine. However the staff in the spa told us about a little French Restaurant on the other side of the Island so we went there - very good, unique spot with great food.

I imagine in the summer the property is gorgeous with the gardens in bloom - will be back if and when the opportunity arises!

Thank you so much for staying with us: we love creating excellent experiences and special memories for our guests ... and having them call us "amazing"...well, that is just amazing! (^:
We hope to see you again soon, and hope you will then be able to sampl our restaurant and enjoy our gardens when they are in bloom (which they are now already: daffodils and crocuses are up!)
Thank you again...guests like you make this place a wonderful place to be.

“Galiano Oceanfront inn and Spa a total find in the Golf islands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I was there with a group of friends the week of Christmas and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful .The rooms were beautiful and had amazing views of sturdys bay where the ferry comes in .One of the suites had an outdoor fire place where we where able to sit and enjoy the view while staying warm .
The spa has great treatments for anyone who is looking for for pampering massages ,scrubs ,facials manicures, pedicures ,as well as special other treatments that I haven't tried .
In all I think it's a great place for people who are looking for a place to chill out and relax and just want some time to forget the city .

“A place I've always wanted to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

I had the pleasure of staying at the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa over New Years Eve. The room was more than well appointed - my boyfriend and I spent the first ten minutes marveling at the plush furniture, outdoor grill, and of course, the beautiful outdoor jacuzzi and fireplace. Too bad that it was the middle of winter, but we still tried for a tepid soak before we left, it seemed a shame to leave it unused. The shower was slightly confusing, and of course we read the instructional card too late. I ended up getting sprayed with hot water before I dove in there to turn it off, but that's just user error. The grounds were quite charming, and a walk along the beachfront rewarded us with seals, sea birds, and a pair of river otters playing on the rocks. Very romantic.
Even though most of the facilities were closed for the winter season, the hot tub was still operational, and the personal fireplace is more than up for the job.
I only have two small regrets: one, that I didn't get to spend as much time as I'd like to have spent there, and two, that I was maybe a little too eager to celebrate New Years Eve, and my New Years Day was spent mostly groaning. Luckily, however, I had that jacuzzi to soothe away the aches. A wonderful hotel, and I would definitely go there again.

Room Tip: Go for the villa suites, they're better by far, and make sure to choose the one on the ground fl...

“What a shame”

Lovely location, spectacular potential. Unfortunately, several easily preventable errors were made. First, although the visit was in rainy, dark December and the reservations were made weeks in advance, the heater was completely turned off in the room. It was absolutely frigid, probably 10 degrees C. It took EIGHT HOURS for the room to become habitable since the heater was woefully small. We would have asked for a space heater however by the time we realized it would not heat up in a reasonable time, the housekeeping staff had gone home (6 pm) and we did not want to phone the "emergencies only" number. Bring your long underwear! Which leads to the second problem, no housekeeping was done for our two-night stay. Bed not made, fireplace not restocked with wood, bathroom not refreshed. Bring your own maid! Thirdly, even though we were aware the dining room was closed for December, and taking into account the other issues, the small discount did not compensate. Lastly, the staff were minimally polite bordering on rudeness. They confused our two first names and our two surnames creating a non-existent person, argued about clearly posted prices, were not respectful of a disabled senior, and were indifferent to our politely worded comments regarding the heat. Bring patience!

“Amazing 5 star boutique hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 December 2011

We were traveling to Vancouver on business and decided to find a unique place for a quick getaway after our business trip. A fellow traveler recommended this place, we had not heard about it as we are not from BC. We decided to book based on her recommendation. What an amazing find.

It was only 15 minutes to the ferry terminal from our Richmond hotel, we caught a ferry for a one hour trip (kind of like a quick and inexpensive cruise), had a one block walk and before our ferry had left the dock we were being checked into this beautiful garden hotel. Fountains and flowers even in October greeted us at the entrance. The staff were welcoming, especially the owner, who had waited to greet us. The room had beautiful furnishings and lighting, it was super clean which I appreciate, and had all the little touches that we've never had in a hotel before but now are a must-have for me: candles, wood-fireplace, local music and local art. And the beds were amazing too: he slept like a baby (thank you!) after a long week of stress.

The next day we had spa treatments that were REAL spa treatments (best massage ever). Dinner was wonderful. Sleep was wonderful. The view was wonderful. We did not want to leave. We bought books at the local book store, a mural book, and presents for everyone at the little gift shop down the street. We will be back, no doubt about that.

Room Tip: All rooms face the water and we are told have the same furnishings, fireplaces, everything. We had a...

We LOVE to wow people and it looks like you were wow'd and very happy...which makes US very happy, too!! Thank you so much for discovering us and enjoying our resort and passing the word on to others. We are very proud of our Chef and our Spa Therapists, they are very talented. We are also pleased you enjoyed Galiano Island: it is an unbelievably beautiful island that is so close to Vancouver. We hope to see you again soon: Edmonton is not so far away!
