Up on a ridge over Puhoi and well worth the little drive - luxurious comfort (sheepskin rug for your bare toes in the morning upon arising), spacious and beautiful bath and gorgeous bush view complete with birdlife outside. Maralyn and Ian were the compleat hosts - mustn't forget Charley (recuperating from surgery when we were there, but very much the canine welcoming committe. Maralyn created a gourmet two course meal with well selected wine when we had failed to make dinner arrangements. Our only regret is that we couldn't have stayed longer........

“Beautiful food, views and hospitality...an experience”
The Ridge is a lovely place to stay. The food Maralyn makes and the hospitality from both Maralyn and Ian made our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. This is our first time staying at a luxury lodge and we will definately be doing it again.

“Amazing and wow”
Everything was just fantastic, great food, quality was inpecable.Ian, Maralyn and Charlie are beyond host, they become instant family. The warmth, all round service and hospitality was just wow and amazing.

“Outstanding hospitality”
The weather was cold wet and horrible, but Maralyn and Ian gave us a very warm welcome and made our stay delightful. The food and wine (lots of it) were excellent. The setting... Well, what can I say... it's New Zealand.... beautiful.

“Amazing scenery and beautiful breakfast”
The Ridge has a beautiful location. Though it is a little off the beaten track, it is all the better for it. The hosts were great, and breakfast was perfect! We throughly enjoyed all the amazing range of food and relaxing chatting to Ian and Maralyn.
The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. The personalised cards were a very nice touch. It is a great place to stay.
