I had an interesting thing happen when trying to make a reservation. I was told that the room that would accommodate the three of us was the "Garden" room. The rate was $250/night CAN and did not include breakfast because the room contained a kitchenette. I told the clerk (not the owner) that we wouldn't be cooking and that I would probably reserve the room if it included breakfast. She said they could probably give us cereal but she didn't know if the owner, Joan, would be willing to cook for us. I thought this was unusual for a b & b and their website didn't specify that breakfast was not included with this room. The clerk also told me I could call or email Joan the next day and ask her. The clerk mentioned that sometimes Joan does provide breakfast for this room and sometimes she doesn't. I didn't bother to call back and found other accommodations.

We travel to Canada often & love to stay at Beachside in west Vancouver because of the warmth & welcoming hospitality. The stunning views accross the harbour & the wildlife thrill us country Aussies. We have nothing like it down under, otters romping near the shore, seals playing in your own front yard.right near the centre of Vancouver. We love this place & would never go past it.

We have stayed at this Bed & Breakfast a number of times in the last two years and every visit has been wonderful,the rooms are all very comfortable and we are always greeted with flowers,fruit and champagne. This is the best spot to view Vancouver during the day and night,especially from the hot tub on the beach. Breakfast is gourmet,and the owner has made us feel very welcome even when we arrive on short notice. This is a geat place to stay in Vancouver!

Three years ago, I retired from working in education for over thirty years. A friend of mine and I decided to treat ourselves to a "trip of a lifetime," and so planned a trip to the Pacific Northwest. Vancouver was our last stop, and we chose the Beachside Bed and Breakfast for our last days in Vancouver. We were not disappointed.

We arrived to find our ocean view room ready for us, complete with a split of champagne and a bowl of fresh fruit. We had called ahead to make reservations, and to ensure that our room had both access to an ocean front and an enclosed hot tub. The view was spectacular! The accommodations just as promised.

During our stay, Joan, our hostess was gracious and helpful. She prepared and served our breakfasts - delicious, I might add - and pointed us in the right direction for local dining spots as well as routes to the city and adjoining areas. We visited the Museum of Anthropology (not to be missed), Chinatown, Yaletown, City Centre, and other ethnic areas of Vancouver proper, and enjoyed the waterfront walk closely accessible in West Vancouver. Whistler, the site of the upcoming winter Olympics, was only an hour and a half away: a glorious drive.

All in all, our stay was a wonderful culmination of our trip, truly a trip of a lifetime. Should we be fortunate enough to be able to return to enjoy all that we missed because of our current time restraints, we could do no better than to enjoy Joan's hospitality and stay at the Beachside Bread and Breakfast. This is not a place to be missed.
