“Great for business trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Good room with microwave, fridge, ironing equipment, wireless,... all one needs for a few days business trip. Next to sky-train and proximity to SM Hospital an asset. Good value for money at breakfast restaurant. Traffic a little noisy at front side of the hotel if you want to sleep in past 6am (which you do not on a business trip anyway).

“Hosted our veteran's reunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

For 27 years the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps Association (Western Region) has held reunions in a number of locations throughout Western Canada. In 2011 we combined our reunion with an Alaska Cruise but chose Surrey as our host city and the Compass Point Hotel as our reunion headquarters and banquet provider. We were not disappointed. As a matter of fact, the general concensus of our members was that 2011 was the best one we have had and much of the credit has to go to the Compass Point Inn management and staff who did a tremendous job for us.
The hotel has all the ameneties you could want including a great steak house and an adjoining pub. Huge "free" parking lot for guests and an on site liquor store round them off. Surrey is a beautiful city with lots to offer visitors and we would definitely return to the Compass Point Inn for another reunion. Its close proximity to the Skytrain and shopping are also a bonus.

“3 dressed up as a 9”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 September 2011

Decided to take a chance and stay a night based on reviews and the web site. The staff and lobby are great. The room was a disappointment however. The bed was old and very uncomfortable and the bedding consisted of a thin cover and one thin blanket. The noise from the road was tremendous and the room smelled like it may have formerly been a cigar shop.

Thank you for choosing the Compass Point Inn as your accommodation. I am always glad to hear that our staff is great. I am very sorry that your room was a disappointment. Did you inform the front desk of your room? We would have changed your room and apologized for that right away if you did not feel comfortable. I am shocked that your room smelled of smoke. We are very strict about our no smoking policy. I will talk to our Executive Housekeeper in regards to this matter and see how we can make our rooms more comfortable for our guests. If you could please call me at 604-588-9511 or email at mgilbert@compasspointinn.com so we can discuss this matter further. I want to make sure that this does not happen again. Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay. We value your impression of our hotel and I hope to hear from you soon.

“Good location; proximity to skytrain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 September 2011

We picked this hotel due to its proximity to the skytrain. We are prairie folk and we were not interested in driving towards Vancouver any further. The rooms were all booked; yet we were able to book the Honeymoon suite for an extra $30 a night.

I cannot speak for the regular rooms; yet the the honeymoon suite was nice. It was clean and quite large in size. He ate in the hotel restaurant the next morning and we were treated to a Haida Breakfast (eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Very delicious!

For those wanting to see Downtown Vancouver, the sky train is $9.00 for a day pass and the station is a 2-3 min walk from the hotel. You can reach the downtown waterfront in 42 mins. The pass is good for buses and seabuses as well.
