“decent hotel not so nice location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2011

We came to this hotel on business, the suites are fine thank goodness, except the pull out couch. Our son was very uncomfortable . the area is not so safe .There was a mall that could be seen from the hotel but nowhere that you would want to walk to. A taxi is necessary for anything you forgot. There is a decent restaurant but they do not serve breakfast during the week.

Thank you for taking the time to offer feedback on your stay with us. I do appreciate such information in order for us to maintain our high standards.

I do apologize that the sofa-bed was found to be dissatisfactory. There is a program in place regarding the sofa beds to replace them as needed and your comments certainly help in prioritizing which to replace.

Also regarding your comments about the safety of the area in which the hotel is located, I assure you the area is safe to walk, even at night. The main roads are well lit and there are residences and businesses nearby. Surrey’s reputation as a high crime city is undeserved and the city has taken many steps to address this issue. The area in which the hotel is located is also one of the safest areas in Surrey.

I hope that we will see you again. Please do call me anytime if you have any additional questions or concerns.

“Very Nice to have all Suites but Rooms were Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

My family of Four stayed in the penthouse suite for the weekend. The pull out bed was terrible. My children argued over who would get the cot for night #2. I ended up having one of them sleep on the couch without it pulled out. My 14 year old son was not happy as it was also very uncomfortable. I never would have booked the pent house suite for more money had central reservations not up sold me with saying there was a jaccuzzi-- when there wasn't. Overall, a good place to stay for a cheap accommodation provided you have a cell phone on hand, as local calls are .50 each. I was not very impressed about this! The best part of the stay was having a kitchen. Next time I stay in this area I will pay more and stay at The Sheraton instead.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us. We appreciate any opportunity to improve and address the concerns of our guest. I am sorry to hear that your stay did not exceed your expectations.

I do apologize for the uncomfortable pull-out sofa bed. We do monitor the conditions of these beds continually and take any comments such as yours seriously to ensure we are replacing them immediately when required.

I have also spoken with the management at our central reservations office regarding the incorrect information you received regarding the room. They will implement re-training to prevent this from reoccurring.

I would also like to thank you for your feedback regarding local calling surcharges. While it is still common practice at hotels to charge for local calls, input from our guests is a major factor in determining our position on such an issue.

“best hotel in surrey”

I've stayed at a couple hotels in the area while on business, but this one is by far the best. This is the hotel that made me join this site just to post, there are tons of options that look good and I'm positive that some hotels are having friends and family review their hotel. Sandman though is top of the line, all the rooms are fantastic. I had a last minute check in for 7 days, and while they were full, they still managed to move me from a street side to the rear. Really friendly staff, good food in the restaurant and a few nice shops near by.

A+

“Two thumbs up”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

We had a junior suite. Balcony with mountain views on the 6th floor. In suite laundry. Full Kitchen. King bed(why we got it). Room Service. Gated underground parking. Very clean and comfortable. Located close to the highway but not close enough to hear it. Little tricky to get back on to the highway, but not impossible. Close to the Skytrain. Would stay again if going to Vancouver.

“Highly recomend! You will feel at home! i was impressed!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2011

I stayed here for a week in January and I had my regular expectations of what a hotel should provide me, but this place exceeded my expectations. Its an all suite hotel with seperate bedroom from living rom/kitchen. It really feels like a nice one bedroom condo more then a hotel and the front desk feels like your personal assistant. The rooms are large, clean and have a pleasent view. There are large windows that open up and let a lot of light in. There is also a good sized balcony. We stayed here for a week and spent a lot of time in the room. Usually a hotel room feels like a dark crammed place that you cant wait to get out of. This place really felt like home, you could do your own cooking, there was a nice electric fireplace, THERE WAS LAUNDRY IN THE SUITE which really suprised me, and a secure gated underground parkade. The area is alright, everything you need is there including every imaginable fast food chain (I gained 10 lbs because of this), the 2nd biggest mall in BC is only a block away. and its on a main street close to the freeway for ease of access to whereever you want to go. The hotel has a moxies for eating at and a roof top patio that i would imagine to be nice in the summer.

A few things worth noting that impressed me:

-Free wireless is standard, but the business center let me use the internet and print a bunch of stuff off for free, i printed about 20 pages for free, not that im oevrly impresssed with saving $5 but its those little things that add up and make me feel relaxed, and not like someones got their hand in my front pocket grabbing for cash, alltho the staff here are very easy on the eyes so maybe i wouldnt have mind that lolz.
-Free newspapers of all kinds every day.
-Very kind staff, everyone working here was in a great mood and very friendly and helpfull.
-The severce at moxies was beyond what i woudl expect, we had a special request and th echef came out personally to ensure he got the orders right. The waiting staff were extra friendly and everyone at the entire place seemed very social.
-contential breakfast was more like coffee and muffins but the coffee was fresh and the atmosphere was very nice.
-landscaping of the property was beautiful, the plants, shrubs and bushes has added a beautiful scent to the fresh BC air.

Negatives: North Surrey has some rift raft, alltho no riftraft came near the hotel, and they had a very secure building (i never worried about my vehicle), Surrey IS Surrey and you didnt have to drive more then about 2 minutes to find drugged out wacko types doing odd things.
-Also further down the street at some of the Tim Hortons and Pizza places theres groups of immigrants that were looking and acting like tuff guys, I found that intimidating even tho they didnt say or do anything to me, I really didnt like having to be around that, which wasnt a big deal because after I got my coffee I just drank it in my vehicle anyways.

All in all I would stay here again in a heartbeat (If I had a worthy reason to be in Surrey again lolz) This hotel isnt the Vienetian Las Vegas by any means, I dont think it even has a pool, but if you want to rent a suite in Surrey for a very reasonable rate, then look no further my friend!!!!
