Pros:

* WiFi worked ok
* Bathroom was pretty clean
* Breakfast offered surprisingly much of a choice
* Bed was comfortable and clean
* Staff was quite friendly

Cons:
* Stairway and Floors were really dirty, Doors were sticky - really disgusting!
* Room was smelly!!!
* Room was dirty! Dust in the corners, dirty carpet!
* Window in the room opened only about 2 inches
* A/C loud and smelled strange after having been switched on
* A/C can't be used during the night because of the noise (unit built in early 80s?)
* Price is charged at check-in! (To avoid cancellation after having seen the room?)
* Strange neighbourhood! Even worse motels are located nearby.

We have an Entertainment.com card which allows for additional discount of about 10% at many hotel chains, including Super 8. We booked at the Entertainment website, which linked to the Super 8 central reservation system website, and made the booking. We had a confirmation number and email which showed the discounted rate and all seemed well for our 5-night booking.

When we went to check out, we were given the non-discounted rate. When we explained the discount, the clerk refused to acknowledge it and said we would need to go to Entertainment.com directly to get our discount (this is utterly wrong, the discount should be applied directly by the hotel). We provided the confirmation number which he could easily look up right then and there on Super 8's own website, but he refused to do so. He finally said he would put a hold on the charge until we straightened this out. Surprise, surprise - the non-discounted amount went through my Visa the next day. So we were overcharged about $63.

The good news is we emailed Super 8 Head Office to complain and they were very responsive. They forwarded the complaint to the hotel and given 3 days to respond. They didn't so H.O. offered to refund our money immediately and would take the issue back to the hotel.

Just a little aside, this seems to be a family run business and every staff person drove a Lexus or Mercedes, one of which was always parked in the motel lot. So they seem to be doing quite well for themselves, too bad they seemed to have done it by trying to rip off less fortunate travellers.

I came to this hote thinking that my father was going to have surgery at st-Michaels. I booked the room for 4 nights, got a rate of $60.00 per night. The room that I booked was ok with one queen size bed. I was in room 111. and I use the term ok. The room was clean, not very spcious however travelling alone, I didn't need much room. The room was not tastfully decorated at all. the tv and microwave as well as the desk was on the one side of the room and there was a fridge on the other side. it was as though it was put in a random spot in the room!The Super 8 breakfest was VERY basic and thereis no where to sit in the hotel with the rest of the guests like other super 8 hotels. There was cereal, coffee, teas and danish. also there was bread for toast, but it was disapointing. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The room was not cleaned the next day, my fathers first apointment was at 11am and when we returned at 1pm ish to the hotel to pack up and leave, my room was untouched. The hotel had no idea I was leaving early that morning, and my bed was unmade, towles unchanged. After one night spent, I had to check out early. There was nothing with the room, just something that really upset myself and my father about his appointment. Anyways, I ended up checking out early and was charged the regular rate for this room since I was checking out early. The rate was just over 100.00! for the small room that I had, I found the rate terrible. way too expensive for the little room. There was a pool in this hotel that was small and used very little. Also the hottub was out of oder until furthur notice. make me wonder why.

Located in a central location.Easy access to local transit.Not too far off main Highway 401.The hotel is a bit older but is very well maintained.The front desk staff are very kind and helpful.Nice clean indoor pool.My room was stocked well with fresh towels.Comfortable bed.Good timely wake up call.Refrigerator and Microwave en suite!!! A nice small SuperStart Breakfast with toast,cereal,danishes,muffins,juiceand fresh coffee.Overall a great money saving value.
