It was my first stay and just an overnighter. I feel that it was very good for the rate. Staff was very kind. The hotel and room was clean, not polished. I very much liked that the rooms had fridge and microwave. Close to all amenities that I needed. I would go back unless I was going for a longer holiday where I would spend more on a hotel with suites.

Stayed 5 nights in Nov 2011. Rate was pretty good. Room was clean, and quiet, BUT:
1. It was way too hot for sleeping comfortably. There was an old wall-mounted HVAC unit that only worked intermittently. Could only open the one small window about 2 inches, to try and get some air.
2. Double bed was comfortable, but the two small pillows were not.
Location was good. Very basic breakfast was included. Wireless Internet worked great. Fridge in the room was nice to have.

It was my first stay at the Super 8 hotel chain. I wasn't disappointed. Expect what you pay for. The room and bath were clean, but need some renovation. The included continental breakfast could be a little better, compared to other hotel chain, such as Econo Lodge, but wasn't bad.

We booked this hotel last minute online. When we got there we were sent in through a dark back alley way. There didn't seem to be any security door for this back entrance and people were going in and out all night.
The bathroom wasn't in good condition, and we were not convinced of the cleanliness of the room.
The staff were really nice, but this hotel was too sketchy for us. If any other rooms were open in Toronto the night we were in town we would have taken the hit on the room cost and gone elsewhere.

I wanted to stay here one night, I didn't have a drivers' license but I had a passport. I was told that the passport with my credit card wasn't sufficient ID. I asked them to cancel the reservation, and they said okay, I found out almost a month later they hadn't cancelled it, nor would they confirm my reservation at the hotel when I called them direct. It was a good thing that I called to check. I had to call the 1-800 number to find out IT HAD NOT BEEN CANCELLED. So in a nutshell this Super 8 were prepared to charge me for a room that they told me I didn't have proper ID to give me. According to Tony, the "manager" if I had been an "out of town" guest the passport would have been okay, but since I lived in the city it was not.....I have never stayed at Super 8 and now I never will. I will go to the Holiday Inn where they accept a passport with a credit card. Beware
