It was August....summer holidays when we stayed at Wigamog Inn in Haliburton, however, it seemed more consistent with "Off Season".
General Overview...Very unkept property....not swept, chairs not straightened from one day to another, cushions on chairs by pool left out in rain, beach chairs dirty, not enough garbage pails (especially on beach), no place for cigarette butts, so guests just dropped everywhere. No adult supervision....seemed just like no adult supervision.
Rooms....Missed us completely with maid service in our cottage on 3rd day (called 3 times and finally got towels), Cottage "The Pontiac" was badly in need of repair, particularily the bathroom, the door screens needed replacing, windows were dirty.
Dining Room....poor food quality for the price we paid, staffing issues...only one person for who dining room, inexperienced, advertised a Bar and Grill besides the main dining room, but it was closed down with no reason or notice given, dirty dishes left on porch outside our dining rm. window from one night to the next night (until we complained)
Filled out the comment form and followed up with an email after getting home, but not even a response.
Decided to never go back....hope they improved things since our stay.

It is unfortunate to hear about the past negative experiences (among some positive reviews) at the old Wigamog Inn Resort. The resort has now undergone renovations and has re-opened under new management as The Wigamog Resort Conference Centre & Spa. All of our Lakeside and Poolside Studios have been totally revitalized including new bathrooms with granite top vanities, new flooring, beds, and flat screen TV's. Some cottages have also been refurbished. Along with a new look and a new name, The Wild Moose Public House is open to all ages from 11-11 daily and features an all new 2,100 square foot deck overlooking Lake Kashagawigamog, a new bar and an event room ready to host your next occasion. It still has the same country charm and splendor of the Haliburton Highlands with a modern twist. We strive to make your experience at the Wigamog Resort a positive one and we hope to see you soon at The Wigamog Resort, a classic country resort revitalized!.
