We (group of six friends )booked the five-night package last fall and were somewhat worried after reading the review posted in Jan 2008 by brig207 with his complaints of staff low morale and other problems.
One of the aspects we liked most at Far Hills was the unfailing cheerfulness and helpfullness of the staff! Virtually everyone from the front desk, waitstaff , bartender, and yes, the piano bar player, were friendly and outgoing. Everynight we were served a gourmet four-course dinner. The menu is extrensive enough so that we were still eagarly looking forward to dinner on night five.
The main building is very attractive with lovely sitting areas, beautiful views, and downstairs, an indoor pool (Ok, no jacuzzi) and a washer and dryer for guest use. Our rooms were across the drive in a newer building and the rooms varied as to size of beds and quality of TVs. (Ask for a king-size bed if you're tall like us). The equipment rental/ski school is a short walk away and snowshoeing and x-country trails are right out side the inn door.
All in all, a wonderful winter getaway!
