We've stayed at the black bear room. It was nice but basic. We haven't had dinner here, because it was to expensive. We went for dinner in Clearwater itself. Overall, a litlle bit overpriced.

I should have written this review a long time ago but I guess it's better late than never. We stayed at the ranch 2 years ago and had the best time. There aren't that many options in this area of Canada but this is a great one. The rooms were basic but very clean and neat. The restaurant was right across from our room so how much more convenient could it be? The food and service at the restaurant were both excellent. The owners were lovely and took the time to talk to us about the area and gave us directions to the park. Overall I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area of Wells Gray National Park.

This park is a very beautiful place in British Colombia, with lots of trails, amazing waterfalls, lakes and wild life.

We did not stay here, but ate in their dining room. The ambiance was very basic. Sitting outside looked nicer, but we were more likely to be a meal for hungry mosquitoes. Th menu focused on buffalo, with a few other entrees available. The buffalo New York strip I had was nicely cooked, but very basic (no noticeable spices or sauce of any kind), served with roasted potatoes and veggies. My steak was supposed to be served with mushrooms, which didn't happen (although my husband got mushrooms on his steak). He also ordered rice, but was served potatoes. There are not many dining choices in the area, so this restaurant was ok, but I would have eaten elsewhere if other options were available.
