Can't understand the previous comment made about this Hotel!

Just came back from a business trip in Auckland and wanted to stay somewhere which is walking distance to the beach - The ParkLane Motor Inn gave me that and more!!!

Staff were super friendly and the rooms and ambience of the hotel were great. Breakfast was lovely andmy overall experience was second to none.

Great place and not overpriced - two thumbs up!!

I usually stay at the Spencer on Byron or Emerald Inn but they were booked so tried the Park Lane. It was gross. As soon as I walked in I knew I had made a very bad choice. The furniture, bedding and carpet was old and dirty and the walls where chipped and knocked about. Made the mistake of walking barefoot on the nylon carpet, yuk!! The bed was the worst I'd ever encountered, soft and saggy in the middle with nasty hollow fill pillows. On top of that, there was bad traffic noise and the walls were so thin you could hear the people in the next room talking at normal levels and using the bathroom. Was there for two nights and managed about seven hours sleep in total.

Arriving at 6am, we were told our room was not yet available. Tired, we headed down the road for coffee & arrived back at 7:30am. Surprised but appreciative we were shown to our room immediately.
Our hosts, Stewart & Sarah, have really found their calling. They welcomed, navigated, hosted & entertained us during our 4 night stay.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. The location is central with only a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and nightlife Takapuna has to offer.
The pool is quite small, but adequate. Opt for a room that is not adjacent to the main drag - whilst the traffic didn't bother us, it may annoy some. Most rooms offer a balcony.
We highly recommend this well maintained motel as your home away from home.
