“A clean, relaxing hotel, but all services are over-priced”

We couldn't make it up to the top of the hill in snow where the hotel is located. The parking is down at the bottom of the hill. So, they should have given more consideration to all those guests who have to carry their luggage from the bottom to the top of the hill at check-in and out, especially in the snow. Other than that, the room and the view from the hotel are fantastic. What most impressed me was the cleanliness. The restaurants are over priced. A super mini croissant at their takeout cafe is $2.50! The popular restaurant they have requires you a reservation, so basically when you finally get there at the feont desk to check-in, you have no chances of getting into the restaurant. Nothing around the hotel, so you have the choices of eat at the restaurant or sturve till next morning. In the morning, you also face an expensive choice of buffet breakfast - $25! They give away hot chocolate around the lobby area, but it's a way too sweet! The outdoor hot tab was nice even in snow. The spa is over priced as well. But, I could vote for the cleanliness of the hotel, that's for sure.

“Great Quiet Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

NIce quiet hotel to relax. The constant snow throughout our stay added to the relaxing atmosphere. All the food in the food outlets were good. The only drawback is that the indoor heated pool was not hot enough to take a dip during winter months. The staff throughout the hotel was friendly. The hotel had a great lounge to take it easy.

Room Tip: Request for a room facing the lake in the summer months.

“Nice Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Attentive staff and a beautiful location. A little pricey, two drinks at the bar (caesar and a glass of wine) cost $24, not including tip. I do have to say, it was the best caesar I have ever had. Having said that, I would certaily come back but only in the winter. Fire pits, outdoor heated pool, skating rink overlooking the region is a bonus for parents with children. I would look for a deal through Wagjag or wait for a deal through Marriot before paying the regular rate.

“Girls Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Myself and five other 50 something professional women spend the January 21st weekend at this resort and have to say it is the perfect location for a girls weekend. The rooms are lovely, with big soft beds and luxurious bedding. The little kitchenettes have two burners, a microwave and a small fridge. There are plates, glasses, cutlery, etc. Our deal gave us unlimited access to the spa where we enjoyed the steam room, private hot tub and luxe toilettries and showers. There is also a womens lounge with herbal team and snacks as well as lots of magazines. The indoor-outdoor pool was nice and warm and the feeling of swimming outdoors in January was lots of fun. There are groomed cross country ski trails and a skating rink so you can keep active. We had dinner at Teca where the food is delicious. The next day we had lunch at the Kottage restaurant and it was also really good. We prepared breakfast in our rooms and brought lots of snacks and drinks, so we could party in our room after dinner. I think that the staff at this hotel were some of the best I have ever experienced. The front desk, spa staff, restaurant staff and even the bus boys and luggage checkers were all top notch. I have also attended this resort for a wedding and found the same thing. I highly recommend a visit to this resort.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that faces the lake.

“wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We stayed at The Rosseau for a wedding last May and it was fantastic. It was off season for the hotel so we basically had the entire resort for ourselves, family and friends. The wedding was spread out throughout an entire weekend and we really enjoyed every moment. The dinner was hosted in the resturant with "family style" serving. The amount of food was mind blowing. It just kept coming and coming. After they finally kicked us out (waaaay past closing) we all made our way to the main lobby bar where they proceeded to put up with us for another few hours. The staff were so great and patient with us. We didn't end up back in our rooms until at least 4 am. The perks of being the only ones there :) We have talked about having our wedding there this coming year and apparently a few people from the grooms side have previously been married there. That shows how satisfied everyone was. Would love to see it during the peak of summer as it was still quite chilly during May
